In the poem, “A Rose for Emily” it describes the life of Emily. Emily’s dad passed away and she was left by herself. After her dad passes away, the townspeople showed up to her house demanding for their taxes. Emily told them she did not have to pay her taxes and demanded that they get out and never come back. Later on, the townspeople found this stench but are afraid to bring this to Emily’s attention. They soon complained to Judge Stevens and the townspeople went over in the middle of the to sprinkle lime on the foundation. Sometime the things people own or they have when someone passes away goes away with the person that passes away.“ Up to the day of her death at 74 it was still that vigorous iron-gray, like the hair of an active man”( Faulkner4).
