In “Two Years Are Better Than Four”, Liz Addison makes the point that community college has become the definition of the college experience. The article begins quoting Rick Perlstein saying, “College as America used to understand it is coming to an end.” He loved the college experience so much that he never really left. When he went back he saw something he would never see, students actually committing themselves to their work. He thought the “rite of passage as it was meant to be-must has come to an end.”(Page 1) But he couldn’t be more wrong.
