These are just a few example differences and similarities. There are many more, like any other book and movie. Read this book than see the movie to find out just how many more.…
In “Anthem Uproar” from Junior Scholastic, by Carl Stoffers describes his Colin Kaepernick sitting during the national anthem. In the beginning it explains the 49ers quarterback sit while the national anthem was playing and made a bunch of drama through the NFL. In the next section, how the national anthem was started and where it was first played, it was first started 1931 and it was first played at baseball games in the 1800s although at that time it was just considered a poem. In the third section it explains why the national anthem was so important to the United States and why other countries don't have a tradition like we have with the anthem. The national anthem was so important to the US because of the immigrants that bounded together.…

Divergent is a word that seems close to meaning and even sounding like the word different. Anthem is described as call for help or for one’s belief. Both of these words are perfect matches for the stories they tell. The similarities don't stop there, nor do the differences. The movie Divergent and the book Anthem almost run parallel with a lot of things but with others it is a big difference. The book Anthem focuses on breaking conformity while Divergent steers more towards accepting that you are different. Though they seem very different at first glance the movie and the book are similar in various ways.…
I believe that the book and the movie version of Our America have more differences than similarities because there were a lot of things that were different. For example, in the book the story of how 5 year old Eric Morse got dropped out of the 14th floor window was different from the story in the movie. In the movie it…
Art is often used to point out flaws in society and what effect those flaws will have if they go unchecked. Two such works are Ayn Rand’s novella Anthem and Michael Bay’s science fiction film The Island .Although these two works have varying settings, plot-lines, and styles, they both serve to develop the same point. Anthem and The Island both use the dystopian genre to stress the importance of the individual.…
The novels Anthem, by Ayn Rand, and Fahrenheit 451, by Ray Bradbury, have completely different storylines but many similarities and differences. Anthem is about a city where the people do not know of the personal pronouns “I” or “my;” They know “we” or “our.” “We are one in all and all in one. There are no men but only the great WE, One indivisible and forever,” (p.19). The government in Anthem is set up of a World Council, and a City Council. The laws are very restrictive and do not give any “lee-way.” Fahrenheit 451 is about a city where the government banned books. No one was allowed to read a book, touch a book, or keep a book. When someone “calls in,” or lets the fire department know that there was a book being kept or read, firemen go out and burn the books. “Stoneman held out the telephone alarm card with the complaint signed in telephone duplicate on the back: Have reason to suspect attic; 11 No. Elm, City. E.B.,” (p.36). In modern day America, firemen put out fires. In America in Fahrenheit 451, firemen start fires. The world in Anthem and the world in Fahrenheit 451 are very different than the world today.…

Many teenagers in the present like the book genre dystopian. Dystopian can show how life can evolve in dark ways. “Anthem,” by Ayn Rand can be relatable to teens in many different ways. School can resemble dystopian by forcing students into things they cannot do or things they don’t want to, it also limits how much they can express themselves whether it make clothing, hair, or word choice. Another example would be parents. Parents can set high standards pressuring oneself like expecting their child to get complete A’s, do activities, have a social life, do chores, do homework, and go to bed a reasonable time. During this they can also suppress their children. The novels “Anthem” by Ayn Rand, “Fahrenheit 451” by Ray Bradbury, and “Maze Runner”…

Anthem is a story about a 21-year old boy named Equality 7-2521 and a 17-year old girl named Liberty 5-3000 who are both different from the others in their secluded society which lacks individualism and self-interest. The movie, Divergent, also follows a similar story line. Divergent is a story about an 18 year-old boy named Tobias Eaton and a 16-year old girl named Beatrice Prior who are both different from the others in their society which lacks individualism and self-interest. Anthem and Divergent are similar in that the main characters have one set lifestyle, they change their name, and they develop similar relationships between each other.…
Divergent covers the important theme of power. In the novel the participants during the initiation to become apart of the Dauntless faction, are competing for the highest ranking this is good because it's “the order in which you select a job” there are “only a few good positions.” The characters are taught the better they do the better the outcome will be. Students are taught the same thing, we have to work hard and do the best and achieve “good positions” “There is power in controlling something that can do so much damage. Maybe I do belong here” This shows that Beatrice wants power, and that power can be abused, this book showed me that even the people that were trusted to be leaders could be persuaded to betray the trust all for a selfish reason.…
Ayn Rand's novel Anthem presents an anti-utopian society with a collectivist government. In the novel Anthem by Ayn Rand there are many themes. These themes include love, Desire, Freedom and individuality. Most of these themes can be shown by the characters in the book. The theme of individuality is shown by Equality 7-2621.Anthem is a novel about a man who overruled the government to gain knowledge of the outside world. My thesis statement is every individual should be their own person and have in control of themselves. One example of my thesis is when Equality 7-2621 left the city and decided what was best for him and his family.…
