Many people enjoy the company of a pet, whether it be a cat or a dog; these animals provide a person with companionship and affection. Pet owners become emotionally invested in their pets and treat them as if they are part of the family. Some pet owners will pamper and shower these animals with affection as well as let them have the run of the house. However, a person needs to remember animals do not function as humans or have the capacity to reason. There are people who believe wild or exotic animals can be domesticated as well as become family pets. When taking care of pets such as a lion or primate these animals require more attention and owner responsibility. There are many states within the United States that have laws banning the ownership of wild animals. However, people are still purchasing exotic animals as pets through the black market. Local communities should not allow residents to own wild animals as companions or breed exotic animals for profit because of the domestic environment, health hazards, as well as the additional financial and social responsibilities associated with owning such pets.…

If they are in the wild, it would depend on the factor of predator and prey. If an animal is high on the food chain, they are prey for a lot of animals do not have many rights and live day by day in hopes of not being killed. If the animal is domesticated like a dog or cat the rights are different (or should be). They should not have to live in fear and in constant search of their next meal, they should be living more peaceful. There is a major problem with domesticated animals though, because almost anyone can buy a cat or dog and humans do not always have the best intentions for them. Dogs get put into dog fights, and animals of all kinds are mistreated by owners or thrown out because they do not want to take care of them any longer. There are also animals used for experimenting like rabbits, mice and rats. These animals have no rights and are not treated as living beings with feelings like they are.…

Just look at them, listen to them, and if you dare, smell the odors that pour out when they interact with friends and foes. Look at their faces, tails, bodies, and most importantly, dare to look into their eyes. What we see on the outside tells us a lot about what’s happening inside animals’ heads and hearts. Animal emotions aren’t all that mysterious”. Yet, animal cruelty is ever present. The life of Kitty, a Chimpanzee held in captivity and forced to breed, illuminates the negative impact of animal cruelty. Kitty suffered for twenty-five years in a laboratory in Alamogordo, New Mexico. She was used as a breeder, giving birth to fourteen baby chimpanzees. Only four of those baby chimpanzees were allowed to be raised by their mother, Kitty. The others were used in harmful experiments. Kitty displayed remarkable motherhood characteristics, which was the primary reason as to why she was used as a breeder stated by the Humane Society. Chimpanzees are also one of the few animals protected by the animal law. The animal law gives Chimpanzees more animal rights compared to other animals due to their mental intelligence and capabilities. It is widely known that Chimpanzees are extremely intelligent and mock human behavior such as laughing, crying, and…
