Art Analysis: Bernardo De Galvez
Bernardo de Galvez was a Spanish military leader who later served as a colonial governor. At the hotel which was named for him, Hotel Galvez, there hangs a picture of the man in full military dress. Many guests have reported that they feel uneasy as they approach the painting and swear that the portraits’ eyes follow them as they move.
The strangest occurrence associated with this painting is how difficult it is to photograph. Tourists and paranormal investigators struggle to get a clear photograph, ending up with blurry pictures and photos that contain strange skeletal images. However if they ask Bernardo’s permission before photographing him they are sometimes able to get a clear image.
