I am currently involved in key club, rotary interact, tennis, babysitting, as well as working at the Big Thrill Factory, and it is through these activities that being kind, a leader friendly, and polite, truly allows me to shine.
Throughout the year, I worked hard to make the right choices, be respectful, and be the best that I can be. On a daily basis I am always being friendly, polite, and positive. At my current job, Big Thrill Factory, I deal with all kinds of customers but, I am always welcoming guests with a smile on my face and bring a friendly and positive attitude this helps me be effective and shows my commitment to the job.
This is I think my leadership skills improved through my capstone project and other various volunteer opportunities. For my capstone project I adopted a classroom of a head start preschool program in Chaska where I filled backpacks with school supplies that each child needs for the fall school year. My leadership skills played a significant role when having to contact outside business to ask for donations to receive the schools supplies. In addition, I delivered the backpacks to the classroom where I had the responsibility of leading the

Our small project focused on the leadership and service pillars. Every other week on Saturday from 1-3, we went to Summerwood of Chanhassen to work with the patients who have dementia. Typically we would run each session by doing activities with them. Each week the activities were different but some included, the alphabet game, memory/brain games, kick ball using a beach ball. Throughout the months, we really started to get to know the patients and connected with them and the patient’s looked forward to us coming. . Personally this experience was very

During high school, I committed most of my free time to my NJROTC unit and my 4-H club. In both of these organizations, community service, leadership, citizenship, and initiative are indispensable values that are essential to their functioning, and I like to think I have learned to embody these traits. In 4-H, I have attended, and then went on to teach, numerous leadership and group trainings. In NJROTC, I attended the Area 5 Leadership Academy, graduated as the Second Honor Cadet of the 2014 Academy, and was selected to be an Aide for the 2015 Academy. I held, or currently hold, leadership positions in both organizations and I feel I set a good example for my peers and subordinates. Through any task, I am enthusiastic about my job and…

The four pillars of the National Honor Society; scholarship, leadership, character, and service are the four qualities of a well-rounded individual. They have not only embodied who I strive to be, but have helped me achieve success and impact throughout my local community and my time as a national honor society member. Scholarship has helped me define not only who I am as a student, but has helped me prepare for my future. Without my drive to maintain my academics and pursue knowledge, I would not have discovered my love and passion for teaching. This newly discovered passion has helped me narrow down my future career, special education. Service, has helped me develop one of my individual characteristics, as I now understand the importance…

The four pillars of National Honors Society, scholarship, service, leadership, and character, have paved a path for me as a student and as a person. Scholarship has taught me to strive to be the best student I can be. I use scholarship to keep up with my school work and never give up when a class is hard. I always strive for the best grade I can get and I will stop at nothing until I reach my goal. I will continue to use scholarship as I go to college and pursue my dream as a pediatric dentist. I will study, I will learn, and I will never give up no matter what happens along the way. I use service when I volunteered to help my local private school. I was never asked to do so, but I felt as if I was giving back to a school that had done so much…

Service is one pillar of the national honors society that I believe a lot in. I believe that service presents so many opportunities and is such a meaningful way for one to spend their time. During my years at Barrington High School thus far, I have participated in many service projects including packing school supplies for children in foster care, collecting money at ALS tag days, and working with children with disabilities in a horseback riding rehabilitation program. Every week I was excited to see the progress of the children I worked with as they grew through horseback riding, and I am proud to say I played a part in…

In 8th grade I became heavily involved in my schools STEM program who specialized in Medical Skills and partook in HOSA state competitions. All my life I had shown an intense liking for helping others therefore medicine seemed as my calling and once joining STEM my interests in the medical field grew deeper and deeper as well as my passion for leadership. So when the chance to compete in the HOSA competition came about I jumped at the chance to win an award for my school. I teamed up with 3 other girls and together we were to educate the public on careers within the medical system. We did careers from pediatrician to an aquatic vetenarian, my job was to keep creativity as well as knowledge flowing, I exhibited strong character, drive, detemanation, as well as patience during our project, these were extremely important in keeping the team focused as well as appreciated since we all contributed amazingly to the project and so it won second place! This experience taught me social skills as well as time management, it helped me become a more rounded person and strengthen my character. I was able to keep my team happy and restrained from being overbearing or bossy, which are not qualities a leader should possess. Another instance where a held a position of leadership was this year where I became the president of Alonso’s Anchor Club, where young ladies partake in various community service projects to better the world around them, the most recent event our girls took part in was the 5k Walk Against Breast Cancer with Dr. Lee right here in Tampa, Florida. With the massive help from our girls the team raised $6,000 all going towards the National Breast Cancer Foundation.…

and allow us to support each other through our academic journey. By joining NJHS, I would be able to increase my service to the community and further develop the desirable qualities of a person, such as leadership. I understand that the National Junior Honor Society looks for students that demonstrate strength in the following categories: leadership, character, service, and citizenship. I am happy to say that I do so. When I take part in a group project, I am usually the leader of the group. I constantly encourage others and never listen to bad influences. I also let the everyone share their ideas and listen to them without interrupting or going ahead with my plan. An example of my leadership was in the Future Cities team. I created the idea of having an underground water filtration system and using magnetized hovercrafts. Therefore, I was the leader of the sections that worked to create these and they were both large parts of the model. I believe this an example of good leadership because the Future Cities team won second place. I also have a great character for I am honest, respectful, and responsible. I try my best to mature as a person and strive to achieve my ambitions. If I fail, I try again until I succeed do not allow myself to remain depressed. In addition, I help people whenever possible. This year, I tutored a student in my class who did not understand science for two hours. When he retook the science test his score rose from a thirty eight percent to a eighty four percent. As for service, I have participated in many activities held by an organization called HSS (Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh) which performs many different types of service. About once every month, this association holds trash cleanups where participating people remove solid waste from roadsides. HSS also holds many different charities throughout the year to raise money for cancer, heart disease, and many other subjects. Finally, HSS holds food drives where people can donate non-perishable…

While a student at Detroit Catholic Central High School (CC), I made an impact through establishing a leadership club called “Shamrock Lead.” The club is based on the values of leadership, service and mentorship. These three values were put into action by holding monthly leadership forums between students and faculty, participating in monthly service projects, and creating two mentorship programs. The mentorship programs I created were The Fr. Ned Donoher Mentorship Program, bringing together incoming freshmen and upperclassmen, and Shamrock Connect, facilitating connections between current students and school alumni. A true definition of leadership is being able to take…
