Characteristics Of The National Honor Society
The National Honor Society is the nation's premier organization established to recognize outstanding high school students. More than just an honor roll, NHS serves to recognize those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, and character. I believe that I am well qualified to be in National Honor Society because of what I have accomplished in high school. I am a respectful, neat, smart, attentive, determinate, discipline, diligent student that always gives a hundred percent. During my school week, I spend most of my time at church working with the children there. Last year, part of the group and I went to a leadership conference. The leadership conference also helped me look a leadership in a different way. The speakers taught me what it takes to be a great leader. During the conference I learned that every leader has six characteristics and they are resilience, flexibility, communication, courage, humility and presence, and responsibility. I feel that I have almost all of those characteristics and that if the National Honor Society makes these characteristics its main focus, we can accomplish anything we face. If I were accepted into National Honor Society, I would try my best to be one of the best leaders in our school because we need great leaders. Also, I would pour my heart and soul into this group because I care for everyone in the school, and whenever I see anyone struggling, I try my best to help that person and that situation, without causing even more problems for that person. In addition, I would put the other student’s needs in front of my own because that was great leaders do. I would try my best to get involved with my community and the people in it.
