Individuals pass through what we call the age of childhood. In this stage, children have their different pastimes depending on their field of interests and capabilities. This stage is critical because it involves one’s growth and development. The most common and unavoidable pastime of a child is playing. The type of play they do affect them physiologically, psychologically and socially. In this modern time, technology has been continually progressing and the invention and improvement of computer caught children’s attention much. These technological devices particularly, are personal computers, play station, play station portables, and the like. Visuals and sounds are the features of these devices that are most appealing to them. Using these gadgets, they spend most of their time sitting and may be motionless for hours. Although they move, energy is not much used. The result is that their physiological condition is harmed. Long hours especially in front of computers cause poor eyesight and may be exposed to too much radiation. Worst case is that sometimes they skip meals and do not eat at the right time. As a result, low blood pressure, fatigue, and gastrointestinal ulcer may occur. One of the most popular games probably played by children is Counter-Strike. This is a video game which involves violent or immoral act such as killing. Children learn to take themselves as the real character in the game and eventually may poison their minds, therefore, developing a criminal mind. This type of game may lead children in acquiring an aggressive behavior which affects his personality. Children get to play alone and do not have actual interaction with others while playing computer games. Though in online games, they get to interact with different people, there is only a virtual connection.
