There are many differences between living in the city or in a country setting, but the country setting has many more advantages over the city. The air and water quality and other environment factors are improved in the country setting. The school system is safer and less crowded in a rural setting. The roads are not loaded with traffic and taxis. The country is safer than the city and crime rates are lower. In the country, there is an abundance of trees and vegetation. In the country, there are parks and open spaces, and there is a variety of wildlife to observe. Although some of the reasons why one might choose to live in either place are left to personal preference, there are many factors based solely on facts.…
No one person has the same choice when it comes to a living situation. City lifestyle and country lifestyle are two very different types of living that satisfy the taste of many different people. The main differences are found in the environment, job opportunity, and cost of living. The difference of these can make or break the opinions of many but ultimately it is up to the single person.…
Many families and individuals find themselves at some point questioning the advantages of city living versus country living. It is nearly impossible to find a good answer to this question. What is good for one person might not be good for another. Some people enjoy the busy, hyper active metropolitan city where they can use all amenities and have unlimited opportunities for work and leisure. At the same time, other people feel the urge to be closer to Mother Nature, relaxation, beauty, and peace. They take pleasure in living in the calm and peaceful environment of the countryside and spending their free time fishing, hiking, picking berries in the woods, or playing in the creek. In my opinion, the nature of urban and rural life style and the effect it has on people is the most important difference between living in the city and living in the country. I feel fortunate to have grown up in the rural area. I would never trade my memories of playing in the creek, riding four wheelers, or climbing trees all within a short walk from my house. Health, education, and transportation are three major concerns that need to be considered. While city life can bring more opportunities in these cases, country life can provide the best of both worlds.…
Unlike the country, the city is full of action. The city is full of different colorful lights at night, tall and short buildings all around, vehicles traveling at a steady pace, and people walking towards their destination. In the city, not much of nature or animals are within sight. It is a place that is fast paced compared to the country which is a slow paced environment. If you have two choices: life in the city or in the country, which one will you choose? .Some people think that city life has more benefits than country life; however, some people agree that country life is a real life like a nice dream: hearing nature’s music, seeing sights of the land and its beauty, and planting trees. Even though, city living and country living might be considered similar, as night and day but from a broader perspective, they both have some differences in conveniences, life conditions, and people's characteristics,…
Unlike the small town people, the city people have to struggle day to day with their transportation. Commuting to work or school is almost like a nightmare. Public transportations [trains, buses], roads, and railways are no match for city population. Those over crowed buses and trains with passengers are almost impossible to get in or get out without pushing or touching other people. To commutes with taxi or your own car can be a lot frustrating than taking train or bus because of a busy traffic, where cars can only move bumper to bumper. Based on my experience it took me one and half hours to travel seven miles in the New York City. So, basically their patient and energy are mostly consumed by traveling. But for the country people driving to work/school is a lot more pleasurable than the city people. There is almost no traffic jam, no pollution, and great nature scenery on the way. On the down side, they are lacking in public transportation system. They do not have many choices like the city people for…
Who wants to walk out of their front door and see nothing but a concrete jungle filled with too many cars? certainly not me! In the country, there is space between you and your annoying neighbors. Having privacy in the city is like trying to grow an oak tree in a thimble. In the country, you can walk out of your front door and see a blue, pollution free sky, the birds are chirping, and maybe upon a distance you see a couple horses or cows. There is no curfew at night time, no annoying patrolling police officers, and you can have a bonfire at your own leisure. Cities are overloaded with people and it proves nearly impossible to step outside without being seen or heard by other people.…

When living in the country there are fewer people to interact with compared to city living. Your closest neighbor may be a mile or more away and there are not as many people to meet and converse with. Often in the country everybody knows everybody, there are no new people to meet because a lot of the families have lived in the area for generations. In the country, there is less cultural diversity compared to city living. In a city there are more people than one could possibly ever know. There are many new people to meet and get to know if you choose to do so. Some people may prefer to keep to themselves and others like to be around a lot of people. Personally, I love to be around people of all walks of life. I love meeting new people, finding out where they are from, where they work and their interests. A city is literally a “melting pot” of different cultures. Many people, when moving to a new area, migrate toward a metropolis instead of the country. When foreigners immigrate to the United States, for example, they flock to the city not the country. When people move to a new area, they want to be around people who are like-minded and similar to them. We find examples of this in most major cities, such as: Chinatowns; San Francisco’s Russian Hill; New York’s Spanish Harlem, etc. If a solitary life is what you desire then country living would be ideal; whereas city living would be ideal for meeting new people and/or people-watching.…
While city life brings many social opportunities, country life can provide the best of both worlds. “There are many advantages and disadvantages to living in the country and living in the city”. (http://www.oppapers.com/essays/Compare-And-Contrast-City-Living/452075) Depending on what kind of lifestyle a person wants to lead, decides on where they should live; a fast paced, busy lifestyle, live in the city. Country life compared to city life differs in many ways pertaining to the economy, environment, society and lifestyle. Which community would someone pick based on these factors. First, relating to the economical differences, cities have plenty of job opportunities there are many businesses and homes to work. Also, public transportation makes it easier to get to work, compared to the country. Country areas are far away from big business, so farming and living of the land is what most people do. But, some people still drive a hundred or more miles to work every day to the closest city or business. So living in the city costs less for fuel compared to the country. Country people who farm need fuel for their equipment, so keep in mind the cost. But, Studies say twenty years from now; high demand of food will affect the farming industry in a positive way. So farming’s a smart investment and may influence someone to move.…
Some people prefer to live in a small town whilst others prefer to live in a big city. Which place would I prefer to live in? Living in big cities or small towns both have advantages and disadvantages to their location. People’s living preferences vary for many reasons such as age, profession and interests. Convenience is one of the most beneficial factors to living in a big city. Larger cities are more industrial and advanced and everything can be found with the least effort and time. Big cities also usually have better schools and universities than a small town. This gives people a better chance at a higher and more rounded education that can prepare them for the workplace, large cities have more opportunities specially when it comes to careers as you are more likely to find higher paying jobs so consequently live a more comfortable lifestyle. The big cities also offer a multicultural aspect compared to small towns, you will find people from all over the globe that have come to big cities and open restaurants and shops. Some people think big cities are full of facilities and opportunities and then there are other people that think it’s full of stressed and angry people who are always in a rush. A lot of young adults generally prefer to live in a big city as there is more to do, more shops, bars, restaurants, theatres and museums especially if they have grown up in a smaller town, after all, big cities never sleep. However, there are some values in a small town that are just as or even more important and more difficult to achieve in a big city such as nature and the warmth and comfort of humanity. The quality of life is easier and less expensive. If you want to live in one you must sacrifice the other, live in a calm and quiet and pollution free environment or the busy, entertaining and never sleeping city? I, personally, like living in a smaller town somewhere not too far from a larger city so I can have if and when I want the best of both worlds.…
The inhabitants of countryside are always bound by a sense of community, but they also suffer from being cut off from the exciting outside world. They have the advantage of knowing that there is someone to turn to when they need help and some ideal places to go when they need to be alone. The life is simple but cozy enough..But the inconvenient transportation and underdevelopment of economy deprive villagers the possibility of going to a new show or a latest movie, and make shopping a major problem.…
People who prefer to live in a small town have their reasons. They argue that living in a small town prevent them from living surrounded by all kinds of pollution, such as, air pollution and sonar pollution. At a small town they can transpire fresh air, not polluted and live in a very calm environment. They think that living in nature makes people relax and makes them feel more comfortable. They love to wake up when the birds sing and enjoy nature. By doing so, these people can be always relaxed and they can have always fresh mind. Such people are probably calm and relaxed.…
Thirdly, I live in a very multicultural area where there are lots of people from many different countries. There are shops, restaurants and bars to visit as well as cinemas and theatres. Life is the city is much more active and vibrant than life in the country.…
The layout of the city life is much more modern in style than the farm life. Usually, the scenery in a city is of high buildings, loud, and not as green, but it does offer more conveniences. City life is better described as being at a faster pace, and having peer pressure along with work pressure. In the city, there are a big variety of universities, colleges, schools, museums, theaters, and markets. These days people usually prefer the modern lifestyle. People in the city tend to give their everyday needs the same priority as their materialistic desires. City dwellers can be easily embarrassed if they have an older car or if they have a job that pays less than their friends or relatives.…
