Clothing During The Renaissance
Every culture has its own way of creating traditional types of clothes. Merchants and tailors tried using the less possible amount of fabric to make these pieces of clothing cheap. To balance out for the difficulty in getting the fabrics tailors would take far less time and effort on the actual creation of the garment. Ever since this type of clothing came to be people’s style and productions have extremely developed. The Enlightenment ideas and changes in the populations way of thinking and living during the Renaissance changed the commoners clothing . Tailors were now making clothes closer to the body and more skintight to the person wearing it; people loved it. However, to make these clothes more textile was needed, therefore more demand for fabrics. Around the 17th century, flashy clothing became very popular. Embroidery and gemstones were now being sewed onto these new types of clothes, skilled tailoring was now being appreciated thus, clothing also became a strong indicator of wealth and prosperity. …show more content…
Tight clothing was still very popular, but people loss crave for flashy and eccentric clothing. The people were now starting to order private tailor to fit their clothes. However, not everyone could afford this privileged service. Home made clothing became the new popular thing to do.By the end of the 19th century, men’s garments changed dramatically, due to the Civil War. More soldiers were needed, therefore more uniforms.
