Interview narrative Coming of age is a very hard task in a young person’s life. most people talk about their coming of age experience as an event that happened a long time ago. My grandma gave me advice on maturity: “Even though you think life is short it is still the longest thing to do...so don’t dwell on the past or constantly look to the future because their is a time to rush and a time to slow down. These words have replayed in my head over and over especially in the past few weeks, but when I was looking for someone to interview I thought of someone who would fit the description of someone who wasn’t so far away from their coming of age story and was possible

As a child isaiah showed great talent for being a scholar and athlete. I asked him what was his goals as a child a he told me other than the obvious like bounty hunter, basketball player, or superhero he really wanted to be an anesthesiologist which also is a really hard word to spell it is also one of the most challenging professions you could go in. things change and people change so now isaiah is studying something a little more different he wants to help people and possibly be a physical therapist.
Trying to balance writing papers to studying to working two jobs this summer is hard for anyone but for a person like isaiah he saw it as a challenge that had to be conquered. he did it all with a smile on his face and a positive attitude. “College is really hard but if you buckle down its also really rewarding, because you meet new people and have more fun than you could ever

Race is a huge issue in the film and many stereotypes are made. Jamal Wallace is introduced in the film as a typical black teenage male who goes to a low class school in the Bronx and really excels on the court as a basketball player. Not too many people thought of him as being anything more than that, due to the fact that Jamal makes mediocre grades in his school in the Bronx, he does just enough to get by and to maintain a "C" average. Jamal did not push himself any harder in the classroom than he needed to. Jamal's passion is writing, you gather this information early in the film due to stacks of books and things that are shown collecting on his desk at home. His mother states " I always see him writing in those Journal's of his."…

The faint smell of cornbread baking in the oven, pork chops with rosemary and garlic roasting in the oven, and mashed potatoes with butter cooling off on the counter, tickling my taste buds. The rain is pouring on the rooftops on a cool autumn day. My dad is sitting across from me, in a warm gray fleece jacket and black pants. I’m giggling, trying to take myself seriously before we start the interview. Looking out the window he says, “My childhood was superb, it wasn’t an ordinary childhood though.”…

Life is a series of lessons and challenges which help us to grow. According to Erik Erickson, the better that people come through each crisis, the better they will tend to deal with what lies ahead. People experience the most lessons during their childhood when they are just learning of how the world operates. Children and young adults handle situations very differently because their thought processes are different depending on their experiences. Of course lessons can be revisited successfully when they reoccur as adults, if they are recognized as a problem.…

    coming of age incident

My coming of age of age incident is the most beautiful experience I have ever lived in my life The amazing most precious coming of age incident I had was the precious gift of being a mother I gave birth to a precious, the most beautiful baby on earth my baby girl Evelyn. No matter how much you think ahead, labor and delivery rarely go according to how you plan it to be. Labor wasnt as bad as it many women describe it to be. I heard so many horror stories about giving birth that I got scared when I was at the hospital. I imagined feeling like I would die but contractions were very manageable for me. I had a higher pain tolerance level than I thought. I feel so proud of my self because I didnt even get an epidural I gave birth to my daughter all natural. Of the whole pregnancy and birth of my daughter Evelyn, I enjoyed labor and delivery the most. After my daughter was born I felt a big emotion and sadness that I started crying. All of a sudden I felt so old (lol). I just felt that feeling like if a 100 lbs fell on top of me and I felt different. Right that moment I felt older because Im a mother now. Even though there a lot of single moms or mom out there young like me most of them still go out and leave their babies at home with their parents because they feel like their life is to hard with a baby. Well not me I love my daughter Im a full time mom. Yea my mom takes care of my baby when Im at school but once Im home I dont even go out and if I do I take her with me everywhere I go. Evelyn is my life I feel a lot more mature Im an adult now. My grandma got married at 14 I know how to cook clean do everything so its like a tradition to be young moms. Every time I see my grandma she tells me I was already ready to take that step in my life that shes really proud of the women I am. Life as a mom is not easy but not impossible. When they wheeled my daughter in next to my bed in the recovery room. I spoke to her and she tried to arch…

When you were a child, have you ever burnt yourself by touching fire? If so, your parents may have warned you, but you hurt yourself anyway out of curiosity. After that experience, would you ever repeat yourself and touch it again? Of course not! Due to this pain you experienced, you’ll unlikely do it again. Similarly, ‘we mature and learn through our experiences and challenges through coming of age.’…

“Life is 10% of what you make it and 90% how you take it.” –Irving Berlin. This is the best quote to represent me as a person. Life is all about how you see it and then how you take it. Everything you choose to do or look at is perceived in your own way. Just like happiness is all up to you. No one can decide your happiness for you and…

The quote, “Live each moment like your last because tomorrow may never come,” is commonly overused, but the truth behind it is shocking. As an emotional and indecisive teenage girl I would often scream, “I just want to be an adult and be able to do what I want already!” At the time this seemed like a logical statement, but adulthood came faster than I imagined. The many quarrels over extended curfew, cleaning my room, or going out whenever I wanted are now humorous memories. I recall many times engaging in conversation with my mother about how badly I wanted to grow up. Without any hesitation she would always reply with, “Be patient. It will be here before you know it, and by then, you will wish you were this age again.” I often rolled my eyes and sarcastically agreed with her. The power of our words are sometimes incomprehensible to the human mind, but we have the power to cherish every moment, speak positively, or speak negatively over our lives.…

    Work Harder

The best advice that I have ever received is that you should always try your hardest because if you don’t, you will regret it later. I incorporate this advice into my life by working hard in school, clubs, and sports. I know that if I do not try my hardest to reach my goals, I will always look back and wish I could redo it. For example, during a hard practice when I am tired and wish I could stop, I tell myself to keep working harder because I can always do more. I realize that it is always possible to work harder and that the extra work will always pay off. Later in my life, when I have accomplished all of my goals, I will look back at all of the hard work I put in during high school and I will have no regrets. I do not want to look back at high school and wish I had worked just a little bit harder or done a little bit more. This spring, after a track meet or long volleyball tournament, I am often up late finishing homework or studying. Even though I may be very exhausted, I do not quit working on my homework until it is complete and I have done my best work. When I am racing in track or swimming, I try not to slow down at any time, no matter how much I want to. Even though I feel exhausted in the middle of the race, I tell myself to keep going hard because it will be worth it in the end even if I can barely move. Even though I do not know what I want to do with my future, I do know that if I put in as much effort as I can into school and activities now, then it will be a lot easier to reach the goals that I will dream up later on. I know I want to do everything I can to have a great high school experience while working towards my goals at the same time. I never want to look back and wish I could have worked harder or done more, so I am always going to do my best right now while I can.…
