Difference Between Social Justice And Diversity
Social justice is the justice in terms of the distribution of wealth, opportunities, and privileges. Diversity is the state of diverse or a variety or range of things. You are being watched, from the way you walk, talk, look, sound, and more. People perceive other individuals by first impressions and what they’ve heard. Others tend to group certain people based off of one or a couple of people they’ve stumbled across before. Everyone should be informed about social justice and the diversity of people. Mostly because world is made up so many different cultures in which we have to learn to mutually tolerate each other despite our differences. There are many actions to inform people of social justice and diversity such as joining or creating an organization, hold cultural events, and practicing what you preach.
Creating or being a part of an organization can help spread a great deal of information quickly. They also demonstrate support and solidarity between the people of the organization. Many associations have plenty of activities they do to make sure their word is out there. Such as, having protest events to increase the visibility of a cause.

Culture and religion are just two things that shape us individually. Because we are different we contribute new ideas and learn from each other. Citizens should be informed about others not only to learn how to engage with them but also have an understanding of them and their culture. There shouldn’t be a bias opinion creating a barrier between how we interact. Imagine being a human being but not treated as such or equivalent to the next person. There are many actions one can take to promote social justice and diversity such as joining or creating an organization, hold cultural events, and practicing what you preach.     This is a growing issue because “we rely on these conclusions to make choices and decisions in life [as we grow up]” (Ezeanu 2). People often make comments about certain cultures without being educated about that certain topic. It is wrong to make a comment about a group of people or country based on one individual. This has been a current and serious topic because of racist comments towards Muslims and African-American. When making a general statement on a culture, truth and faulty come hand in hand. Saying that “Hispanic societies have a high degree of machismo, or, in Middle Eastern cultures, women have a lesser status than men” would be considered a positive way of generalization (Stereotypes 1). People often make generalizations in negative ways rather than positive, which is where it becomes a problem. When an individual makes an inappropriate and false comment to a group of people it “can contribute to racism and xenophobia” (Higgins 2). Overgeneralizing can be very damaging to an individual and “[takes] the form of limiting beliefs” (Ezeanu 3). Throughout the U.S., most parents and teachers do not educate their kids on accepting diversity. When their kids face a diverse environment they do not know what to do. The American society has been lead to think about differences as a weakness. When people say “all Muslims are terrorist” it is only based on hatred and stupidity. They are taking one ‘bad’ Muslim and representing the whole religion/community. This society loves to make up excuses for their lack of knowledge by saying, “It’s about class, not race”.
