A COMPREHENSIVE FEASIBILITY STUDY FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF YELLOW CROWN SUPERMARKET

LOGO

Yellow Crown Supermarket will be symbolized by the logo shown above. The logo contains the name of the supermarket itself, YELLOW CROWN SUPERMARKET. In its center, a grocery cart with full of goods are shown. This implies that the supermarket offers a variety of things that a man needs. Above the cart, is a yellow crown. A crown symbolizes “of high standard” because only those that excel can have a crown (King, Winner of pageant etc.). It is yellow because yellow in business means cheap. To shorten it, the cart with a yellow crown on top signifies a variety of high quality goods offered in cheap prices. “TM” means trademark which signify that the logo was solely made for this establishment and it was not copied from anyone.

Sta. Mesa, one of the geographical districts of the city of Manila is Yellow Crown’s supplier of prospective customers. With over 98,901 people living their (as of 2007), their demand for basic commodities and other items sure is big. This will also include the students of Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP). The grocery stores within the area are Puregold, Savemore and SM hypermarket.

It can be discerned that Yellow Crown Supermarket has big competitors. But we’re still confident because of the high quality goods and services that we will be offering to our customers.

The reason behind this is that food producing firms do not want the consumers – their customers – to know too much about the food manufacturing industry (Pollan and Schlosser, 2008), in the fear that customer loyalty could be lost upon their finding out various truths. To retain their customer base, according to documentary film ‘Food, Inc.’, narrated by Michael Pollan and Eric Schlosser, the image associated with food in the United States of America is that of an American farmer.
