4.06 lab questions lab one
1. I examined a arch fingerprint ( my index finger and my middle finger), with those prints i seen ridge edging and arches.
2. I did not have a partner so i cant compare fingerprints.
3. Police officers, crime scene investigators and others in the justice system rely on forensic science techniques to ensure that the right people are punished for law violations and to keep people safe. Fingerprints are starting players in the criminal offense and defense lineup. They are so important to criminalistics that justice officers still use fingerprint systems over a hundred years after scientists developed them. lab two
1. PLASMA: circulates dissolved nutrients, such as, glucose, amino acids and fatty acids (dissolved in the blood or bound to plasma proteins), and removes waste products, such as, carbon dioxide, urea and lactic acid.RED BLOOD CELLS: These contain hemoglobin, an iron-containing protein, which facilitates transportation of oxygen by reversibly binding to this respiratory gas and greatly increasing its solubility in blood.WHITE BLOOD CELLS: are part of the immune system; they destroy and remove old or aberrant cells and cellular debris, as well as attack pathogens and foreign substances PLATELETS: are responsible for blood clottingand also helps to prevent bacteria from entering the body.
2. A and B antigens determine our blood type: If you have type "A" blood, you have "A" antigens attached to the surface of your red blood cells and "Anti-B" antibodies not allowing "B" blood in. If you have type "B" blood, you have "B" antigens, and "Anti-A" antibodies not allowing "A blood in" If you have "AB" you have both antigens on your blood cells and no antibodies. If you have "O" you have no antigens but both "Anti-A" and "Anti-B" antibodies.
3. To determine blood type, your cells are mixed with commercially prepared anti-A, anti-B, anti-AB, and anti-D. Your plasma is mixed with commercially prepared A cells and B cells. The reaction pattern determines your type. If you got the wrong type of blood, you would experience pain at the infusion site, abdominal/back pain due to renal failure, and die within minutes from absolute renal failure and shock.
4. I would say i did rather well in the game. At the end i had 3 blood drops but that was only because of my first patient i could understand what to do then i got a grip of the game and succeeded within the next two patients. lab three
1.If they cant identify information from a blood drop or just dont understand it they overlook it.
2. 25.1 feet per second. What way and how fast the person or item is traveling.
