Flowing orders in today’s ARMY is key to making it last. When orders are not followed it leads to chaos and undisciplined soldiers, the lack of following orders only shows to the outside world that the ARMY as a whole cannot operate as one. There are 3 main topics on why it is very important to follow orders in the army. 1. The act of not following orders could result in injury or death, getting into trouble and eventually getting kicked out of the ARMY, 2. obeying orders will help u stay focused, and 3. It makes you more of a team member.…

These seven Army values are taught to Soldiers in basic training and are reinforced through out a Soldier’s military career. They are expected to be followed in a peace time, garrison environment. They are also expected to be followed in a war-time, combat environment, however an additional meaning or expectation may be attached to certain values in combat. Also, the punishment for disobeying or not following one of the values is much greater, whether the punishment be through Uniformed Code of Military Justice, or in the form of how a Soldier is viewed by his or her superiors, during war time. The current crumbling state of the military, such as the decreasing age, operational readiness and leadership ability in the ranks of the Non-Commissioned Officers, is leading to a more prevalent breakdown in the adherence of Army values in lower enlisted Soldiers. Lower enlisted Soldiers are taught not to think for themselves, but to do as they are told, because it has always been that way. However, if a Soldier observes the seven Army values, but is given no loyalty, sense of duty, respect, or sense of integrity in return from his superiors, it is safe to assume a Soldier will not feel part of “something bigger”, and act out in this manner. In the FORSCOM Army, this Soldier will be punished because he or she acted out due to a feeling of being let down by their superiors, and the problem will be cyclical…

As an opening I will be giving a short summary on the different responsibilities a soldier has and what I will be covering in this essay. The Army itself is a large responsibility that every soldier has. As I’m often told it’s the little stuff that really matter because all the little things amount to bigger things. Each and every soldier is responsible for their appearance, being on time, physical fitness and a good deal of other thing that form their responsibilities. It’s all these little things that help make up a good soldier. A single soldier can make a big impact on other soldiers around him. This impact can be for better or for worse depending on how the soldier presents himself. No one wants to see a bunch of raged bums in the army. Being in the right uniform, at the right place, at the right time shows a basic level of self discipline and motivation. As other soldiers take notice of someone doing these things it can help motivate them to further improve on themselves. However there is an opposite side to this. If a soldier is always late, in dirty or messed up uniform, or not at the right place it can influence others in a negative way. It can cause others to not to care as much about their responsibilities and loss of motivation. It is the soldiers’ responsibility to follow the guidelines set down by the Army regulations, NCOs, and officers appointed over them. During the course of this essay I will be going on a in depth explanation of the guidelines covering appearance, importance of rank structure, punctuality, and discipline.…

This essay I am going to write is about the importance of accountability in the army, and as to how it affects the unit’s mission. First off by definition "Accountability is important in the military because soldiers are often times required to perform extremely challenging duties and services. Without accountability, a soldier cannot be expected to meet these high demands and expectations". Being accountable means being in the right place at the right time, being in the proper duty uniform, being dependable and always arriving to work on time, appointments on time and most importantly doing the right thing at the right time and all the time. One of the most important parts about being accountable is so that you do not miss any important information that you could use. The first formation of the day is one of the most important formations of the day because that is where all information is put out for the week, day, and even month. Being accountable also means that everyone knows where you are at all times, not just you taking care of you but everyone you work with being able to get in contact with you at all times of the day just in case they need too. The last formation is also just as important due to the fact the information that was put out at first formation can change and if you are not there for the change in information, you could show up at the wrong place or in the wrong uniform. So it is always important that you are either there or if you cannot make it there or to any of your appointments and other personal area, you need to make sure that you contact your supervisor. Unless you cannot get ahold of them then you need to contact someone to let them know of anytime that you’re not able to make an appointment or are going to be late somewhere. Accountability does not only affect you, it also affects every single person that you come into contact…

I think it is important to follow directions because if people didn’t follow directions we would have a lot of CHAOS in the world. The reason why we would have chaos is because kids would do drugs, have kids at REALLY young ages and there might be more homeless people in the world. I think it is important to follow directions because for exsample you could be walking across the street (say there’s no speed limit, red lights and or stop signs or anything that gives a warning) you would have a high chance of getting hit by a car and most likely end up in the hospital or even dead. That’s why there are traffic rules that should be followed.…

    Army Values-Integrity

Integrity is one of the most talked about and most abused of the Seven Army Values. First we must define integrity it is doing the right thing consistently. That means that we must do the legally and morally correct thing every time. Just because something is hard or unpleasant does not mean that we can look the other way. Doing the right thing is not a matter of deciding do I help my fellow soldier and let him slide on an Army regulation or do I uphold the regulation. It means doing both they are both equally important. Sometimes helping a soldier means that you must enforce the regulations and in some cases that can mean discharging them from the Army at other times it means fighting for the soldier and getting them the help that they need to succeed in the Army.…

The main reason for this essay is because I did not follow out proper orders and was not at the correct place of duty for PT/Accountability formation at the correct time. Although there was a miscommunication, granted on my half, there is still no excuse for me to miss a formation. I want to be an excellent soldier and I want to excel in the military. The first step I need to put into action is always making sure I am at the appropriate place of duty at the correct time or preferably with time to spare. This is a simple task that is easy and painless to ensure, and it will be accomplished.…

In my life, people have given me a lot of advice. Some have meant nothing to me, yet some have changed my life completely. When I was little I thought if you wanted to fit in with the crowd you should do the same as they do. Thinking that, my life wasn’t unique; I was just another piece in the game called, “life”. This all changed when my dad told me, “take the path less traveled by”. This is saying that you should not just follow the people in front of you, go down the path that only few dare to go down.…
