In Order to Solve the Problems in the Present and Future, It Is Necessary to Understand the Past.
Absolutely, I will always agree with this statement from not only my rational mind but also the emotional heart. This positive viewpoint of the statement is exactly based on my unscrambling of my past and the things I have experienced, which have been endowing me with the power and confidence to overcome any difficulty and hardship I am experiencing or will possibly encounter. When the present or the future is full of gloom, the past becomes a haven of refuge that provides relief and inspiration.

"The present is something stretched over the past." For the future, there cannot be any dissimilarity. Indisputably, there is almost nothing formed in a flash. Every single event has experienced a relatively short or long development before it comes into being. Therefore, when we are trying to solve the problem, looking backward and checking out ¬— how has it come to be, we can always find the cause and get the answer to figure it out. It is just like the allergy: not few people have faced the sudden skin erythema, which seemed like no reason, no sign, and coming out in one moment. But when we went to see a doctor with our anxiety, we would find that the doctor always asked some questions about what we had done before the erythema appeared, and a few minutes later we were informed that we had been allergic to something, then, we got some pills and were warned to stay away from the allergen to keep us healthy. When we have a problem in life, being a doctor and suiting the remedy to the case, we will overcome any difficulty and live a healthy, happy life.

Taking history as a mirror, and taking inspiration from the past, we will be wiser to handle our present and be clearer to chart our future. History often repeats itself — this is not only true for individuals, but also applies to the universe. Learning from the histories of others, makes people get a shortcut to approaching success and avoid obstacles leading to failure. For a simple example, I often "ask" Google

The way I interpreted McCullough’s words, I think that he is trying to tell us that if we can’t realize our past, and what is happening in the present (and control what is happening now), we will not be able to predict future events and be prepared for the consequences (both good and bad) that will be thrown at us based on the actions we take and the reactions to them. Say that terrorists attack us, in…

To understand the future, we must first understand the past, and how we got to our current point in the first place. In my previous years through grade school, history has been a prominent subject in my learning experience. Through nearly every subject, history has been a basic building-block along the road of schooling - whether it be through English, Mathematics, Art, Science, etc, they all started somewhere, which we unfold through history.…

In modern day people live their life and are determined to better their future from their past. This means that the past that I have already lived is what created the path, walkway, stepping stones for who I want to become in the future and, what I plan on accomplishing in life. I live for this belief because it is the reason why I do what I am doing today. The plan that I thought I was destined to take three days ago might have been altered today, and I might have to found a new path to follow.…

There is a proverb in Belgium that states “Happy Nations have no history.” This proverb means that you must first have chaos and madness in order to thrive and be successful. Many people or even groups of people struggle through life and as time goes on hit many obstacles and hardships. In today’s society you must fail first and learn from your mistakes. Everyone needs history whether it's standing up for what they believe in, memorizing the greatness of others, or fighting for freedom to achieve happiness. However sometimes taking matters into your own hands can lead to disaster.…

A historical event from the past teaches us to learn from our mistakes and to benefit from those mistakes so in the future we can do the right thing other than what we did in the past. One example of a historical event we can learn from is “The Diary of Anne Frank” about the family and Anne herself to learn from what happened back in the past in the 1900s. In the story “The Diary of Anne Frank” by Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett teaches us to learn that they made this story for us to realize that it was wrong to put the Jews in concentration camps, why Anne Frank was so strong, and why the story of “Anne Frank” is sad because what happened to Anne and the people that were with her.…

“History cannot give us a program for the future, but it can give us a fuller understanding of ourselves, and of our common humanity, so that we can better face the future” -Robert Penn Warren. History is the analysis and interpretation of the human past that enables us to study continuity and change over time. If it wasn’t for the study of our nation’s past there would be no way to identify the American identity. The study of the world’s history shows the contrast between the past and present, making it clear what the American identity believes and stands for. History is a device used to understand our personal opinions, beliefs, culture and religion. The study of our world’s history has helped us to understand the change the World has been through to get to where it is today. Society, beliefs, technology, and freedoms are just some examples of what has changed drastically in our history; the knowledge of how these things have evolved is a major tool used to improve the future. The study of U.S. history helps shape an American identity by giving a better grip on what used to be to embrace the current and develop the future.…

I believe that history helps us with our future, if we actually see what we did wrong in the past. Learning about how medicine started and peoples views on it can help me as a public health professional when decided what new plans I want to develop and how I want to help communities. Learning about different medical organizations and what their views are on public health is also beneficial to my career. I learned about how insurance started and what people’s views were on it, I think this is important to know when trying to implement changes in our insurance…

Often times we find ourselves thinking about the past only to try to force the memories away and return to our current delusion. We can never erase the past, but if the past is who we are, then should we just welcome pain back into our lives? Embarrassment, guilt, and pride betray us as we choose to bury our darkest memories in our head and look to a positive future without ever having to readdress them and acknowledge that they had ever happened in the first place. Thinking back now my weakest moment caught me by complete surprise.…

I agree with William Faulkner’s statement that, “The past is not dead, it is not even past.” Not only does what goes around come around, but everything taking place now is a result of what is, or has already been. We are currently living in both the past and present, while simultaneously creating our future as well. These statements can be supported by characterization, symbols, and metamorphosis in Eugene O’ Neill’s novel, “Long Day’s Journey into Night”. If history lived only in the past, then we would have no future.…

We all have past, right? This past is the print of the footpath of our individual wheels of life. And for this, that footpath is the root of who and what are right now. We are the result of this footpath. The different experiences that we have encountered in our daily living are truly our own footpaths. Through this we have molded, have leaned and have gathered some of the understanding on the different facts of this wheel if life. Through this we become aware of our present environment.…
