In the first three years of the child, they accomplish many milestone that are the bases for a later growth. Children during infancy establish trust in their world and they find independence in their toddlerhood. Adults are an important figure on the physical development of the children during the first months. Parents or caregivers need to provide to children the opportunity to promote their development during these stages in order to create a positive and creative environment for children. When infants or toddlers receive warm, consistent care and attention they are able to easily establish trust and independence in their world. This trust and independence is important for their development during the first years. Helping children feel safe and secure is important for the child, so they can explorer their surroundings. Each child has their physical development at his or her own rate. The physical development from birth to 8 months are reaching, hands in mouth, repeatedly grasps and release objects, lifts and holds up ahead, sits up alone, rolls over and crawl. The characteristic of the physical development from 8 to 18 months are: child can sit in his/her chair, pulls self to stand, walks, throws objects, climbs stairs, walks backwards, cooperates during dressing, handles finger foods, scribbles with crayon, uses spoons and cups. During 18 months to 36 months the child is able to walk up/down stairs, stand on one foot and walk tiptoes. In all these ages mentioned is really important that adults help the child in providing a safe environment to explore and observation in order to provide support and care as need it.

Through physical development, a young child from age 0 to 3 will learn to turn their head toward some sounds and movement, move from sitting with support to sitting alone, raise arms to be lifted, begin to walk and kneel to play.     I observed my cousin grow from the period when she was an infant. From birth to three years she was able to use sucking and grasping reflexes. Could slightly raise her head when lying on her stomach, with support she could also raise her head for a few seconds. Additionally, her hands were always clenched into fist and could repeat body movements. From three to six years she could roll over, pull her body forward, and reach to grasp objects. She could also shake and play with objects that were given o her such as toys. At between six to nine months the baby became very mobile and could crawl, grasp and pull object toward her body as well as comfortably exchange toys from one of her hand to the other. At nine to twelve months she not only stood but also walked, stood unassisted and without assistance and could as well roll a ball. At the age of one year she was more independent in terms of balance and eye coordination, she could walk backwards, scribble, sway to music, turn door handles and knobs as well as pick things while standing up. At two to three years she was well formed and could kick the ball, draw a circle, turn pages and also jump. At her third to fourth year she had well formed physical abilities.     Physical - New born babies are born with many different reflexes to help them survive. These reflexes include the ability to swallow and suck reflexes, enabling them to feed. They also use a grasp reflex where they will automatically wrap their fingers around the caregiver’s finger or object when it is pressed against their palm.
