Jessica Turner Case
Jessica Turner, founder and CEO of Turner Test Prep Co., is at a crossroad with her newly organized business; her company specializes in helping people study for the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Exam. The company is in its third operating year and has grown steadily to corner approximately ten percent of the market; however, Jessica remains concerned that she is not achieving enough of the market share and growing in the right direction. The biggest competition for Turner Test Prep Co. is National Testing Services, a large national company offering multiple types of preparation exam services in multiple ways.
Jessica started out with countless ideas and formulated a high standard for the preparatory classes. She offered an extensive

On July 15, 2008, two year old Caylee Anthony was reported missing by her grandmother, Cindy Anthony. Cindy notified the 911 operator after realizing she had not seen the girl in a month. Casey Anthony, Caylee’s mother, gave police several different reasons for the girl’s disappearance, including the story that the girl had been kidnapped by a babysitter. On December 11, 2008, Caylee’s remains were found in a Florida swamp near the Anthony home. The one person who was often forgotten in this tragedy was Azaria. The horror of this tiny baby being clasped in the jaws of a wild animal and dragged from her bed and taken off into the night to be eaten, was ignored, while the scientists, police and lawyers squabbled over her bloodstained clothing. Even her mother's protest during the trial that "this is not some object we're talking about. It's my little girl." elicited no signs of remorse from her accusers. Little Azaria was never given a real funeral and there is no gravesite at which people can kneel and pay their respects. But she will never be forgotten by the family who loved her and named her Azaria - "blessed of God."…

    Katie's Case Summary

    • 1445 Words
    • 6 Pages

Katie is a 35-year-old professional woman, wife and mother of two small children. Katie was first introduced to pain medications after a car accident left her with an injured lower back. The pain medications she took, began a neurobiological response in Katie’s brain that she had no control over. Narcotics take aim at the brains reward system, saturating it with dopamine, giving the user a feeling of pleasure (“Drug Abuse, Addiction, and the Brain,” n.d. p. 2). Katie’s brain began to acclimate to the dopamine surges. Which in turn, the brain generates less dopamine and or decreases the dopamine receptors. This made Katie use more and more drugs, to continually try and attain the dopamine high (“Drug Abuse, Addiction, and the Brain,” n.d. p. 2) Brain imaging studies show that areas of the brain that regulate judgement, behavior control, learning and memory are affected by drug addiction. These changes create the abuser to seek out and take drugs compulsively (“Drug Abuse, Addiction, and the Brain,” n.d. p.1). This began Katie’s addiction to prescription pain medications.…

As you may know there are many people enraged about the decision that was made with the case of Brock Turner. Riots and other violent methods have been used to get certain points across; and I believe the best way to appropriately get points across with you is writing a letter. There have been accusations made claiming it was a case of male and class privilege. Was the six-month confinement in a county jail and three years of probation enough for the crime that Brock Turner committed? I understand that sanctions vary from jurisdiction to jurisdiction, but sexual assault is something to be taken very seriously no matter the outcome of the situation, in this situation hurting the athlete’s reputation…

They also offered to take polygraph tests. When the results came back it showed up negative . Additional test were taken from the duke lacrosse players including fingernails , underwear and the results from that also didn’t match any of the players tested .
