Marine Corps
The career that I would love to pursue would be one in the United States Military. I would like to eventually become an Infantry Officer or an Aircraft Maintenance Officer in the United States Marine Corps. The reason is I want to be part of a force that could stand up to any enemy and fight for the country that I live in and the people in it. The journey to become an officer in the Marine Corps will not be easy and starts right now. To get to the Military Occupational Specialty of an Infantry Officer or Aircraft Maintenance Officer , one must have excellent grades so they may be able to earn an appointment to the United States Naval Academy. While in the academy one will work towards earning a bachelors degree and will receive the proper training in order to become an officer. Once in the Academy, students have the opportunity to choose what they want to major in, although they may major in any desired field, it is recommended that they major in a degree that will assist them with their Military Occupational Specialty (MOS). In addition, when in the Academy one must choose which path to follow, either become an Officer in the Navy or Marine Corps. If one is not able to attend to the U.S Naval Academy, one could attend any accredited college to receive a Bachelor’s degree in any field to qualify for Officer Candidate School where candidates who do not have leadership skills are weeded out. If one is selected to become an officer after the three month course where other officers evaluate Officer Candidates to see if they have the leadership skills necessary to become an officer in the Corps. This is called OCS or Officer Candidates School. if the Candidate is selected to become an Officer, he/she is to attend The Basic School (TBS). After the Officer completes TBS the recruit is to attend formal training for their Military Occupation Specialty (MOS), which in this case would lead to what is known as Light Armored Vehicle (LAV) Leaders Course in Camp
