The sun burnt every day. It burnt time. The world rushed in a circle and turned on its axis and time was busy burning the years and the people anyway, without any help from him." Montag had made the decision to stop burning books when a woman decided to burn alive with her books on one of his missions. He realized his actions were actually hurting others rather than benefiting them. This event had a major influence on Montag and his decision to hide the books rather than burning them. Throughout the novel “Fahrenheit 451” Montag’s main obstacle is finding the meaning of the books he burned, he seeks help from professor Faber since his wife Mildred seemed to only be interested in watching television. As it states in the text, “All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others.” (Orwell,133) This quote shows one of the obstacles the farm animals faced while under the leadership of Napoleon. The leaders claim that “all animals are equal” but constrict themselves by saying “ but some are more equal than others” the “others” referring to themselves. Therefore the new way of governing the farm where everyone is supposedly “fair” is not. The animal created a set of rules for the order of the farm called “The Seven Commandments”. Their leader, Napoleon while promising to be different from the previous human owner, ended up breaking all of the commandments and deceived the other animals. Two quotations from the novel that go hand in hand are as stated, “Four legs good, two legs bad” (Orwell, 7) and “Four legs good, two legs better” (Orwell), the first quote was Snowball’s condense version of the commandments while the second is the conclusion the animals came to at the end of the novel after being mistreated by Napoleon and the pigs. The pigs now carried whips and walked on two legs like humans, “Four legs good, two legs bad” marked the beginning of their journey to becoming a communist
