1. Introduction After candidates recruited by the company, the human resource supervisor should face a very important problem, that how to motivate the employees to improve the integrate quality and work positivity. Motivational technique is one of the most effective ways. While motivation techniques are not difficult to master, they are often neglected, but it does not have to be that way (Weiss, 2011). The advance of motivation theories made human resource management entered a higher phase. Incentive mechanism is used to make employee’s inner motive power close to the company’s desires. According to the present situation of the enterprise and evaluation of employees’ productive process, managers can satisfy staffs’ different requirements by using effective incentive methods. Compare with other industries, we can find a significant feature in hospitality industry that is large numbers of employee mobility, the staff structure formed by a lot of part-time staff is one of the important reason. Although full-time and part-time workers work for the same company and same position, they still have some different. So according to their different characteristics, human recourse managers should distinguish different incentive methods for the full-time and part-time staffs,

2. The importance of motivation The ability to motivate employees to improve productivity is a crucial super visional skill (Weiss, 2011). The objective of enterprise human resources development and management is mobilizing all positive factors for the employees and trying to dig the maximum potential of them. In reality, there are a lot human factors can effect human working behavior, such as social environment, working conditions, technical equipment and some personal qualities such as education, training, knowledge and experience.     In today’s world managers face challenge in making employees perform his or her task efficiently. Employee satisfaction is utmost important in successful completion of work in an organization. For job satisfaction apart from monetary value job motivation is important. Each person has different motivation for working. Some people work for money, some work for recognition and some may work since they have passion towards they do. However whatever be the personal causes for job motivation may be the bottom line fact is that everyone works for money, whatever it may be called compensation, salary, bonuses, benefits or remuneration. But money is not the sole factor to motivate an employee towards the work. For example manager might increase salary or may give bonus to an employee but it may not motivate the employee, reason is that unless and until the employee is satisfied with his or her job he would not be dedicated towards the job. Managers need to think of innovative ways to motivate employees. When an employee achieves something managers need to give recognition and praise the same. It helps if he/she acknowledges the performance of the employee in front of the entire work force in the office. Awarding appreciation certificate, ‘Keep it Up’ notes on a regular basis helps a mile to keep an employee engaged, which monetary benefits may not achieve. These acts as recognition and matter of pride for the employee. Recognition can be given at meetings or company-sponsored social gatherings, office lunches, outbound etc. Employers can create an employee newsletter to share updates and recognition. They may also post a bulletin board for employees to share news, hobbies, and recognition. Does motivation plays a great role in employee performance? According to Joo, Jeung, and Yoon (2010) performance has been one of the most extensively researched concepts in the field of human resource development (HRD). A work performance is usually depends on employee's level of motivation and state of mind.     One of the major challenges management faces is motivatingemployees to do their best at work. Successful organizations have motivatedand enthusiastic employees. In this paper I will summarize three articles I’ve found in Harvard Business Review and relate them to chapter 16 from our text on motivation. In this summary I will show the relationship between a motivated workforce and corporate performances. I will then apply the concepts from the articles and the text to management in a personal organizational setting. The first article was abouta new model of employee motivation. For centuries thinkers and behaviorists have studied whatmotivates human beings. Today knowledge of brain science, neuroscience, biology, and evolutionary psychology has allowed deeper studies. Lawrence (2007) and Nohria (2007) suggest people are guided by four emotional needs. The four drivers that underlay motivation are the drive to acquire, bond, comprehend, and defend. We are all driven to acquire physical goods, experiences, and social status. We tend to compare these physical goods and experiences with others. People drive to bond with other employees. They feel motivated when they are proud to belong to an organization. The drive to comprehend leads to adesire to make a meaningful contribution. Employees are motivated by jobs designed to challenge them and enable them to learn. Fulfilling the desire to defend leads to feelings of security and confidence. People have a quest to promote justice and have clear goals and intentions (Groysber, Lee, & Nohria, 2007). The organization and individuals should strive to fulfill all four basic emotional drivers. The drive to acquire is satisfied by an organizations reward system.
