After we finished reading the book “The Natural”, we watched the movie. After finishing up the movie, I could tell that there were many differences between the book and movie. The first difference I noticed was that there was a change in many scenes. For example, there is no car scene with Memo and Roy in the movie, Roy is a right fielder instead of a left fielder in the movie, and also, Iris, Roy’s “girlfriend”, is not a grandmother in the movie like she is in the book. Another important difference was that in the movie, Iris has a teenage son that is revealed to be Roy’s son too, because Roy and Iris grew up together when they were younger. This changed the movie a lot for me, because I could tell that Iris and Roy were going to end up together,…

The movie I would like to talk about is Monsters University (2013). This movie talks about a kid monster Mike Wazowski (Billy Crystal) has dreamed of becoming a Scarer. To make his dream a reality, he enrolls at Monsters University. During his first semester, he meets Sulley (John Goodman), a natural-born Scarer. Sulley and Mike engage in a fierce rivalry that ultimately gets them both kicked out of MU's elite Scare Program. To make things right, Mike and Sulley along with a bunch of misfit monsters -- will have to learn to work together. Monster University (2013) is a good example of how the technology helps the cinema. In the documentary Jesus Camp young children are shown in their native environment to have very close relationships with the Lord. Jesus Camp focuses on young white evangelical Christians from the heartland of America who are all being home schooled by their mothers and taught to be zealous soldiers in God’s army fighting the Devil and the morally bankrupt and godless secular culture in what is called the sick world. The importance of Jesus Camp cannot be emphasized enough for it reveals as no other film has done the breadth and depth of the culture war that is going on in America. This documentary is every bit as important for its expose of another development; the campaign to recruit the younger generation to fight for the very soul of America. Becky Fischer is a children's pastor who runs the group Kids on Fire, a summer camp for evangelical Christian children in North Dakota and believes that today's youngsters can be taught to become strong and courageous warriors in the crusade against the liberal forces that have brought America down. Fischer believes in the political and moral importance of a Christian presence in America. She uses video games, animated videos, and group activities to help put her message across; Fischer encourages the kids to pray for George W. Bush and his Supreme Court appointees while urging them to help take back America for Christ. For the most part, the children seem reasonably ordinary beyond the fact they pray with uncommon fervor and sometimes speak in tongues. We meet three of these little soldiers in this documentary. First is Levi who is from St. Robert, Missouri; his father is a preacher at their church and an employee of the U.S. Army. Levi was saved when he was five and believes that he has been called to be a preacher in a mega-church. Rachael who is from the same town and has been home schooled all her life. She loves to…

Every so often, a movie comes along that really inspires the audience to live a better way, to take risks, and stop making excuses. I was truly stunned that this inspirational, physics defying film actually came in the form of a kid’s movie. An animated wonderment about an old man wracked with grief, a yellow dog, a chubby little boy and a huge flightless bird, in a floating house. The film was particularly interesting and was surprisingly filled with imagination.…

OCD is characterized by the presence of obsessions and or compulsions. Obsessions are recurrent and persistent thoughts, urges, or images that are experienced as intrusive and unwanted, whereas compulsions are repetitive behaviors or mental acts that an individual feels driven to perform in response to an obsession or according to rules that must be applied rigidly (DSM-5, 2013, p. 235). After watching the film “As Good as It Gets,” I learned that Mr. Melvin Udall, suffered from a severe case of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. In the very beginning of the film, I witnessed him lock the door five times, turn on the light five times, followed by washing his hands with multiple bars of soap.…

My finished animation closely resembles my initial idea as the story behind it is exact but the quality isn’t as good as id like it to be. The reason for this is we didn’t have a sound studio to recorded to sound in so the sound frequency wasn’t monitored. The lighting also wasn’t up to the standard I would of liked as we didn’t have a dark room to recorded in so we could control the light. My target audience is teenagers between the age ranges of 14 to 18 year olds. Even though my animation can be perceived as quite child ish I have carried out research in to exciting adverts for my product and also created a questionnaire for my own. Which have given me the results that this style of advert works effetely. I have created a Ben and jerry’s advert will is recognisable to the brand name but not copied. The reason I decide to try and make my animation recognisable to the brand name is because Ben and jerry’s ice cream have a very different style of advert to any others and therefore have been successful also strait away people know it’s a Ben and jerry’s advert. The characters and the voice over used is very typical of the Ben and jerry style advert. First stage im making my decision on what material to use to make my animation, I had to understand how animation started and developed. I did this by looking at previous animations created and look at why are more popular than others. I then had to look at all the different types of materials used in animation and come up with the type of animation I thought worked well for my product. After doing some experiments with paper animation and drawing animation I decided to have a go at clay motion which worked effectively for me put I also interpreted paper animation for the background. Within making this animation I solely created all elements my self. The production didn’t stay on time as it was about a week behind on every task although I still managed to stay within the deadline. The…
