My Favorite Person
Everyone has a favorite person. Some people think that could be a fictional character in a novel. Others would like to choose an actor, a singer, or a famous politician. For me, my favorite person is a family member, my older sister, because she is generous, compassionate, and reliable.
My sister is very generous. First, she was willing to let me borrow her belongings when I was in need. She also understood and forgave me when I made small mistakes. For example, she lent me her favorite long dress so that I could wear it to my Senior Prom. Because of my carelessness, her expensive dress was ripped at the bottom. I worried that she would be upset and mad at me. However, she did not blame me knowing that. She even hugged me and asked me lovingly about the prom. Moreover, she dedicates her time to help me study. When I was in high school, she taught me English herself, and often bought me many reference books. I am grateful to have an unselfish sister.
Another reason my older sister is my favorite sister is that she is compassionate. She has great sympathy for other people’s suffering. For instance, she often tries to help poor and homeless people by donating food, clothes, money, etc. She used to work as a volunteer for in a school for the blind children in Vietnam. I still remember when I saw her taught those children to read by touching the special characters. She patiently held her students’ hand and instructed them. Although it was not an easy job, her face was always radiant with smiles. She often told me to give what I got, and to feel happy helping others. My sister cares deeply about other people more than herself.
My sister is also a reliable person. Even though we’re nine years apart, we were very close that I could share my all secrets with her. I often told her about my personal problems which I could not tell my parents. When I had a terrible and embarrassing moment in middle school, I ran to home and busted into tears while

One laudable characteristic of my brother is he is caring. On one occasion, we were in Miami on a delightful day. We rented a jet ski for an hour. After about half an hour we tried to make a tight turn but it was too tight. The Jet Ski capsized and faster than we realized it, we were swimming in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. My brother was the first to react and started chasing the Jet Ski as it was roaming off. When he finally stopped it, he could have just gone and left me. Instead he brought it towards me and helped me on. At the time it didn’t seem like a big thing but that could’ve been the difference between life and death.…

As you grow up, you learn many lessons from the adults around you, soaking in every gesture, word, and action. As a child, you strive to be your parents, or better yet, your older sister. I am the youngest of four. I have two older brothers, and an older sister, all of them have influenced my life and given me the motivation to work harder to be the students, leaders, and good people that they are today. However, growing up in a big household can bring confusion to who you truly are. Over the years, you fight for attention (or with each other), and it is easy to lose who you are along the way. Within myself, I have found someone with leadership qualities, perseverance, personality, and good-citizenship.…

Remember the time we convinced the counselors at Purdue swim camp that we were twins? We started up the charade not long after we got there and kept it up for almost the whole week. Even though you aren’t my twin, you are the first person I would pick to be on my team, no matter what. You make it so there is never a dull moment in life. Our endless competitions and talks fill the day and sometimes go long into the night. My sister fiercely protects and stands up for the people she loves. She has to arrive to everything at least fifteen minutes early and everything has to be in a certain place and squeaky clean, which drives me insane. She has shaped me into the person I am today and I don’t know what I would do if she wasn’t a part of my life.…

    Benefits of Friendship

I have four sisters and none of us have the bond of sisterhood. My younger sister and I grew up in the same household and maintained a strong dislike for one another until adulthood. She and I fought for our mother’s attention, were blatantly jealous of one another, and would constantly fight. As far as my other three sisters were concerned, they were from previous relationships my father had with other women, one of whom I have never met. Being that those sisters lived in separate homes they were more live visitors whenever they came to visit. More like a friend than a sister. I never went to any of them for advice or guidance on any subject matters. They never seemed open to the fact that I was their younger sister and never offered the guidance of an older sibling. So it can be understood how my ideas of what sisterhood was about could have been misguided and/or misunderstood. However, in meeting my best friend I learned what it is like to have a confidant, someone I could tell my deepest, darkest secrets and not be judged. She was the person I could go shopping and out to eat with. She was the person I called and whose shoulder I cried upon when my mother recently passed away, not my biological sisters. She was there in my…

I have never looked up to, nor have I had to deal with, anyone more in my life than my sister. Growing up, we spent a lot of time together. From the moment I was born pretty much I was attached at her hip whether she wanted me there or not - I played with games and toys with her; I looked up to her; I respected her; she taught me next to everything about the world that I knew back when I was a kid, before I started school and growing up more on my own. Once I got to the point of having the ability to actually find myself and craft an identity, she had also been going through such a stage, a bit farther along than I was due to her being older. She was my guiding force in the building of my identity.…
