Personal Narrative: What Hurts The Most By Rascal Flatts
My life sounds like a lot of things, the sound of my kitten making strange noises because she doesn’t meow, the sound of my brothers chasing each other up the stairs, and the sound of my entire family having dinner at my house for a special occasion. But, those aren’t the only sounds. I have grown up in a household where music has always existed. In every car ride there was always music. That's what I remember most about my childhood, is the music that we listened too. There were memories that had nothing to do with them of course, but there are many small memories that are centered around a certain song that we'd all dance and sing to. The song itself isn't what's special, it's the memories that go along with it.

We (mainly) went to church every Sunday with my grandparents, and we always used to listen to Christian music. There were a few songs that I really enjoyed, but none that stuck like I Can Only Imagine. Whenever I think about that song I don't think about the lyrics, or any memory that directly relates to that song. I think about how every Sunday after church my ENTIRE family, aunts, uncles, grandparents, cousins, everyone would meet at this Chinese restaurant called Jumbo Buffet to eat. Jumbo Buffet is closed now, but while it was open it was delicious. When I think about eating there I think about how my cousins and I used to sabotage each other's food by dumping a ton of soy sauce all over each others food. Or how we all used to fight to sit by a certain person at the table. Those memories are very important to me, so I’m glad that there's a song to remind me of
