Poor Communication Between Nurses And Physicians
Poor communication between nurses and physicians can lead to poor patient outcomes (Shannon & Myers, 2009). There are many factors to why there is inadequate communication in your facilities departments. For example, new nurses are often placed on overnight shift with minimal staffing. This leads to high stress during times of crisis for new nurses. When problems arise quickly it facilitates unplanned communication between healthcare providers (Shannon & Myers, 2009). I agree that placing more experienced nurses with new nurses encourages continuation of informal mentoring.
