Pro Athletes Are Overpaid
“Professional athletes are extremely overpaid for the jobs they do.” The issue of overpaid pro athletes has been around for numerous years. The fact that a man that plays football and plays on a regular basis, plays for about 15-16 weeks. That man gets paid over a million dollars at least! I mean if you think about the fact that these players get paid more than the president in most situations, It seems hugely absurd! To think that that man plays for such a small amount of time and gets paid so much, but the president gets paid 400 k yearly. So, in your mind do you think that athletes are overpaid? Yes, I think that athletes are overpaid heavily. If you look at the amount of time that most people spend at a full-time job, to make just enough

Almost 10 years ago former cubs pitcher, Mark Prior, argued and argued with team management that his 10 million dollar contract was not going to be enough to support himself and his family (par 5.) This is where my problem begins with Athletes being overpaid. They complain about not making enough money each year, where middle and lower class Americans manage to live off there much smaller salaries. I personally think the league…

Then people like me saying that no they are not overpaid and that they are the best at what they can do. The odds of making the NFL is about 1.6% and that 1 injury may be the end of all of that, Not to blame the players but more like the people and the organizations themselves, without these players and without the youth that follow behind these big stars and NFL players there would be no Nike no Underarmour. NFL players are not paid too much because they are part of a multibillion dollar business and that they are just playing the game.…

Are professional athletes being paid too much? According to Charles Ray, athletes are making a lot more then they should be. Some players are making more then a brain surgeon would, yet the athletes don’t have to go through the pressure of saving lives. Straighten out baseball and you'll straighten out the rest of the world." Bill Lee People have a tendency to pay for things they love to see, but has it gone too far? Bill Lee thinks it has and so do many other baseball fans. There was once a time where a father could go to the ballpark with his family for $10 and see their favorite Yankee play, but now things have changed. For a family of four to go see a Major League Baseball game it will cost them anywhere from $200 to $250 to sit in tight, compact seats, while trying to watch the same man as everyone else is. People ask why professional athletes get paid too much; it's because we allow it. What we pay for, why we pay, and where our money goes are only…

Some people believe that college athletes should be paid and others do not. The only thing wrong with paying athletes is they get paid in other ways. College athletes get scholarships, housing, coaches, and opportunities no other college student has. So maybe they shouldn’t get paid but when you step back and look at the whole picture; coaches get paid a lot of money for example coming from Nick Saban (football coach of University of Alabama) he makes over $7 million a year. But think of the team. Yes, the coaches put in a lot of effort to teach his players but the players do the real work.…

Do athletes deserve high salaries? Maybe so, but as of right now there is so much separation between the pay of an athlete and the pay of the average american that athletes are quite frankly not worth the millions of dollars they make each year.…

I strongly disagree with the fact that professional athletes and entertainers get paid more than other important jobs. The college graduate professors spend years getting to where they are, and it's unfair for them to still not earn enough, or to be put down. It really makes those workers angry and jealous of the athlete's and entertainers. If they don't do anything to help the economy, or help the world in general, they shouldn't earn more than those who do. They get to live life in riches galore while those who try…
