Racism And Ignorance
Ignorance is what fuels racism, and there will always be people who are ignorant. This is why racism still hasn't completely gone away even after all the horrible things that were done. However people learn from the dark history of racism, and do the right thing by treating all others equal, like they should be treated. I know that racism has improved in recent years, and i believe that some day it can be brought to an end. As long as people learn from of nations past.

I believe that people created racism. I don’t think it was one specific person, I think it was all people in general. People who are racist because they look at someone and just because they look different they should be picked on or left out. They don’t take them serious, they don’t allow them to do the same things they do, but they don’t realize that it hurts. What if they were treated just like because they were different?…

When asked if racism still exists in the world a common answer is,“No, how could we be racist when we have a black president!”, but even an extremely well educated man such as Barack Obama the President of the United States sees every form of racism on a day to day basis. Racism today is not a concept that just low class uneducated African American 's struggle with, this is a concept that everyone in the world struggles with. Racism will never be truly abolished from the world because it is a part of humanity that is instilled in us at a very young age, racism towards the “different” and the “other”. Rachel, I wholeheartedly appreciate the sentiment and ideas expressed in your post. They were well thought out and prompted me to question the whitewashed history we are taught in America. Not only does your creation of this post shed light on the unjust and poor treatment of the (forced) black women who fought for this country, but has pushed me to question just how many minorities went through the war (and the rest of history).…

I think it affects everyone, even if it occurs at a subconscious level. I will be the first to admit that I am prejudice: I judge people daily by how they dress, talk, and look. Prejudice has a heavy psychological impact on the ones to whom it is directed at; it shows the ignorance of the person displaying the prejudice; and yes, I believe prejudice can be lessened, but I it will never be eliminated.…

The truth as Herbert brings out is horrifying. Racism still exists today. Herbert brings many statistics to prove how Hispanics and Blacks in New York City have been stopped more by police than whites. The truth is however that racism still DOES exist today; and it probably will exist for many more years to come. In societies stereotypes influence peoples opinions of different ethnic groups, no matter how not racist a person is. I will always be looked at as a Jew. For some Neo-Nazi's no matter what I do or say they will be racist against me.…

It’s a mental thing and most people don’t see the real affect and how bad it really is. Tv shows, movies, pictures its everywhere. But let’s just imagine what it would be like to be a african american person being bullied for the color of his skin, or a Asian because of his eyes those are things they cannot change.
