I observed Mrs. Ball’s 7th grade science class at Helen Tyson Middle School on Thursday November 5, 2015. The classroom had a great climate and was decorated with interesting scientific educational material. She had the desks set up in organized rows with two kids per table. This set up allowed for less interaction between the kids because they were so spaced out, which seemed to keep them on task. The dynamics in the classroom were great. She connected well with each student and was interested in what they had to say. She was very in control of the class and the students seemed to respond well to her. The students interacted pleasantly with one another and were were all very welcoming. They came into class, sat down, and got right to work.…
Hanging In: Strategies for Teaching the Students Who Challenge Us Most has and also has not made impact or achieved the goals Jeffery Benson planned for it to do. Educational programs teach the concepts that are written in his book. However, many teacher do not practice his recommendations or follow his strategies. Students are still being singled out for actions they can’t control. I believe this book is extremely useful for all teachers: veterans and new. The behavior we see as “bad” or “rude” are just cries out for help from the students. Educators need to made aware of when and how to handle the…
The teacher must stay consistent with the rules and follow up on all problems that occur in the classroom. The mentor teacher displayed this in the classroom. When I become a teacher I will follow this extensively to help provide a classroom environment for all.…
In the times that we live, the boundaries between teacher and learner have never been more important. A teacher has a duty of care and must follow all procedures policies and regulations as laid down by our company or institution. These are there for our own protection as well as that of our students.…
DURING the week of September 20-23 I have observed that the classroom expectation for Mrs.jupp class is to come in sit down, and wait for instructions. The students must listen to the instructions the first time because Mrs.jupp will not repeat herself. While getting ready for lunch they must clean up and meet Mrs.jupp on the meeting area. They must wait to get dismissed. DURNING one on one time with the teacher the students must rotate around the class in different station and they can't interrupt Mrs.jupp because she is having one on one time with a Student.…
“Good Teacher-student relationships are based on mutual respect. The student respects the teacher for his or her teaching skills, personal qualities, knowledge and professionalism; and the teacher respects each student as an individual, and that student’s attempts to learn.“ (Petty, pg 91)…

Observing teachers is a great way to see the day to day operations of what goes into the setting of the class. Within the first few months of school, by then the students should have a good understanding of the expectations of the class. It is important to realize that the teacher trains the students what the rules and expectations are from day one in their classroom. These rules and expectations come from their classroom management plan.…
Teacher should always keep contact only on a professional level. We should avoid touching students inappropriately and showing more attention to some students than the others. We need to remain in control, fair and ethical with all students. We shouldn’t demonstrate any favoritism towards any particular students.…
For this fieldwork report, I had the privilege of observing my high school Radio and Broadcasting teacher. I graduated from Piper High School in 2013 and I had Mr. Jon Farley as my Radio and Broadcasting teacher for two years. Radio and Broadcasting provide students with instruction in radio broadcasting and management. Piper High School is one of the few schools that allows students to run a live radio station. According to the course syllabus, “WKPX is a real live radio station broadcasting to all Broward County and part of Dade and Palm Beach with 10,000 plus listeners. The radio program gives students the opportunity to help run a live radio station”.…
There are a lot of valuable characteristics an undergraduate student must achieve In order to become a professional at what he or she wants to become in the future. There are wide ranges of competitive career opportunities in sport management, from sport entertainment to sports marketing that make it necessary to gain field experience. In order to land a career in the sport industry or any field, it is critical to gain hands on experience with the area of industry that suits your interests to expand your knowledge, skills and expertise needed for a professional job. For example, landing an internship entitles having the potential skills necessary interviewers are looking for to successfully do well in their company. Some will not always be professional every second throughout the day. Do not get me wrong, there were other circumstances where my supervising teacher was very professional and did things the right way. There were just times where she did things in untraditional ways from what I am accustomed to. My end concept is now that I know it is difficult to be fully professional every second of the day. A teacher will have good and bad days. I will just need to make sure I have treat my students with respect at all times because that is what I would expect from them. People are not perfect and they are capable of making mistakes, even…

For the field observation, I went to Friends of crown heights educational center. Friend of Crown Heights is a Universal Pre-kindergarten program. This program prepares 4 year olds with language, literacy, cognitive, physical and social skill needed to excel in Kindergarten. The school was very welcoming. The teachers and staff were helpful and the students were friendly. In the classroom, I was assigned to observe there were three teachers and about 15 kids; mostly all girls. The classroom was made up Africa-American and Latinos students. Mostly all students spoke both English and Spanish. On my first day of field observation I learned that the learners are the most important element to a classroom. In addition I learned that there’s a lot…
The teacher uses a very hands-on and fun- central approach to teaching. She believes the children should be as involved as possible, both mentally and physically. During story time, she was constantly having the children do hand motions and such to go along with the story. She very clearly attempted to maintain eye contact with each student for an equal amount of time, rarely ever turning away from them. Even when leading the from the story area to the class area, she walked backwards, always taking care to maintain eye contact. I was not able to observe how she handled a truly troublesome situation, as none of the children really…
