Constitution and Bylaws PREAMBLE
We, the undergraduate students of the Southern Capital Colleges, desirous of establishing an organization founded on the tenets of self-government, democratic, and representative, in order to contribute to the promotion of general student interest and welfare, and to the protection of students' rights and welfare, and to foster among the students the spirit or active involvement in the issues affecting our national life; do ordain and promulgate this Constitution.
Article I
OFFICIAL NAME
Section 1. The official name of this body shall be the Southern Capital Colleges Student Body Organization.
Article II
DECLARATION OF PRINCIPLES Section 1. The Southern Capital Colleges Student Body Organization believes:
a. that all student councils, in order for them to be genuine, must be responsive to the true needs of the students and the people; and to this end, should be representative, autonomous, and democratic;
i. A student council is responsive if it vigilantly promotes and protects the students' rights and the people's rights and welfare, leads into the realization of constituents to the true condition of the Philippine society and launch study movements to improve such condition; ii. It is representative it is composed of duly elected students who embody the true interest of the students; iii. It is autonomous if it has complete control in the planning and implementation of its pro-student and pro-people program of action; iv. It is democratic if it is popularly elected by, consults with and takes into consideration the interest of its constituents.
b. in the creation of a student front that shall advance the common interest of the students and the people.
c. that the neglect of the student welfare and the suppression of our democratic rights are reflective of the over-all suppression of the Filipino people's rights;
