Though many don’t know it, or choose not to believe it, human trafficking takes place around us. We would never expect horrible things like this to happen in Idaho, but unfortunately it does. A more well known form of sex trafficking is prostitution, when it has been forced upon the victim.

Siddrath Kara, author of Sex Trafficking: Inside the business of Modern Slavery, writes, “Unlike a drug a human female does not have to be grown, cultivated, distilled, or packaged. Unlike a drug, a human female can be used by the customer over and over again.” Absolutely no human deserves to have their rights and dignity stripped from them and to be continually degraded. No one, no matter their ethnicity, gender, age, social status, birth place, etc. is less than or should be treated less than another. Human trafficking hurts not only the victims, but also the family, friends, and peers of the victim.
