Mermaids
Once upon a time, there was a beautiful mermaid that lived in the depths of the Pacific Ocean. Her name was Ella. Ella was always cold because the water temperatures in the Pacific Ocean were not as warm as the temperatures in the Atlantic Ocean. Also, the mermen were more suitable for her in the Atlantic. So it was decided, Ella would begin her journey to the Atlantic Ocean across the Panama Canal. But there was a problem, it was tourist season! The most dreaded time of year in Central America. Ella wondered how she could make it across safely with all of the boat traffic. She decided that she would take a chance and risk it for the biscuit. She was only ten feet through the canal and she could already feel the effects of the boat pollution in the water. Oil would stick to her luscious purple tail fin. She wasn’t sure if she would make it, and she slowly drifted into unconsciousness. When she wakes up 7 days later she find herself on the seaweed couch of a handsome merman. He was cooking a delicious meal. He made his way over and said in his sexy merman voice, “I made us breakfast.” Ella was impressed as she began to eat. She looked down at her plate and realized that it was another mermaid that she was eating! He was a cannibal and she was next. Ella was too startled to move, then she realized that she physically couldn’t. The merman must have paralyzed her so she couldn’t escape her inevitable fate. The last thing she saw was a trident, piercing her heart, which spewed out blood. The merman was not very smart in his killing and didn’t take into consideration his shark neighbors. They smelled the blood and rushed over. The sharks were horrified at the murder scene and ate the merman and took Ella to the healing eel where she was revived and lived happily ever after in the Atlantic Ocean with her shark friends. The End.

Tales of the mythical and magical mermaid have been dismissed as rumors; however, these majestical creatures do exist. For many people, water is a source of relaxation and comfort, while others believe that it can be dangerous and deceiving, but often times people do not look at what lives among it. Whether it is a body of fresh water, or a body of salt water, many creatures lurk among the depths of seas, oceans, lakes, and rivers without gaining the attention of human beings. With this, a plethora of sea creatures that tend to remain hidden can harm human beings. People believe that sharks are the deadliest sea creature on the planet, however, this is a false statement. Sharks are most known for their terrifying attacks on humans, but they lack the qualities of a deadly creature. Brute force and sharp teeth can only take this animal so far and many attacks do not result in death. Sharks are vicious and frightening animals, but there is not one creature throughout the Earth’s oceans that is more deadly than the box jellyfish. This aquatic monster has placed fear into the entire world with the lethality it has displayed toward humans.…
