As an 8-9 year old boy, Rap music stuck with me for some reason. I remember hearing my mother play 50 Cent and Eminem in the car, on our trips to Canada. By the time we were home, I had the lyrics memorized. I will always remember changing the mids, treble, and bass to make it sound the best.

Although I don't know much about studios, I've used small programs and amateur microphones. Since sound quality is extremely important to me, I bought Beats headphones specifically for their high sound quality.

Over the years I've maintained a good grade for English, and I seem to be good with my words. I've written my own songs, and I have created 7-8 in the last year. I think I want to stick with this, and I'll have an advanced diploma with

Rap music is a music genre that has been around since the late 1970s and early 1980s in New York City and was pioneered by a Jamaican immigrant by the name of DJ Kool Herc, who started transporting simple rap songs at his parties, which was also by the Jamaican tradition of toasting. Rap has been popular since the 1990s as artists like Biggie Smalls, Tupac, and N.W.A were all popular artists in rap in the 1990s and P. Diddy and Dr. Dre were well known producers at the time and they still are as of today. Rap has become a popular genre of music, as it is mainly heard by teenagers. However, there have been second thoughts on the genre because of the artists using explicit language and content in their lyrics. Rap artists have been heavily criticized…

To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee is a novel that was published in 1960, the times where our nation had segregation and injustice amongst the colored and the whites. Racism presents itself in many ways in the town of Maycomb. Some are blatant and open, but others are more insidious. The plot focuses on a lawyer, Atticus Finch, and how he defends a colored man, Tom Robinson, who is wrongly accused of raping a white woman, Mayella Ewell. When they go to trial Tom is automatically a victim of injustice when they find him guilty of rape just because he is black (Normney 5). om Robinson’s trial, and in fact his entire life, was badly affected by racism. It is truly a testament to the corruption of society when a person who has earned a bad reputation is held in higher esteem than a person who was born with it, as is the case with Bob Ewell and Tom Robinson. Even though Tom was obviously honest in his testament, the jury sided with Bob Ewell because he was white. They made this decision despite the fact that the Ewell family was widely known to be a worthless part of society. Jem, not being racially prejudiced, could not understand this mentality. As Atticus pointed out, “If you (Jem) had been on the jury, son, and eleven other boys like you, Tom would be a free man.” (Lee 7).…

Have you ever heard of the book Where The Wild things are by Maurice Sendak? This book is very popular among children and adults. While I was researching and investigating Maurice Sendak, I found a lot of interesting facts about his life and accomplishments. Maurice Sendak was born on June 10, 1928, in Brooklyn, New York and died on May 8, 2012 (About). His Jewish family came to the United States from Poland and lost many members of their extended family due to the Holocaust. Maurice was a sickly child and had to spend a lot of time indoors. He spent a lot of time reading, drawing, and letting his imagination run free (goodreads). Maurice learned to love stories as a young child when his father told him embellished versions of Bible stories. At the age of twelve, Maurice became very inspired by the animated world of Walt Disney’s “Fantasia.” He was fascinated with Disney, particularly Mickey Mouse and the film Fantasia, which he saw when he was twelve and had a lasting effect on him. In 1948 he worked at FAO Schwartz as a window dresser while he took night classes at the New York Arts Students League.…

    1. A news magazine offers students a discount on the regular subscription rate. The total number of subscriptions is optimal, and, at the current prices, the marginal revenue from the last subscription sold to a student is $6, while the marginal revenue from the last subscription sold to a regular customer is $10. In order to maximize profit, the magazine should a. stop offering students a discount on the regular subscription rate. b. offer students a higher discount (lower the price to students). *c. offer students a lower discount (raise the price to students). d. offer all customers the same discount received by the students. 2. Consider a profit maximizing price discriminator who sells to two groups. Impossible to tell. b. $8.33. c. $27. d. $15. Hint: profit maximization tells you that MR1 = MR2 . We know that MR=P(1 + 1/ε}. We can find MR1 from the information give, Set this equal to MR2 and solve for P2. 4. A multimarket price discriminator sells its product in Florida for three times the price it sets in New York. Assuming the firm faces the same constant marginal cost in each market and the price elasticity of demand in New York is -2.0, the demand in Florida a. has an elasticity of -6.0. b. is more price elastic than the demand in New York. *c. has an elasticity of -1.2. d. has an elasticity of -0.67. 5. Do the problems with our economy have any effect on the increasing number of domestic violence reportings? Money problems are always a risk factor in relationships. Due to the downfall of job losses, the falling of the financial markets, and foreclosed homes, there has been more tension in homes. As a result, organizations that deal with domestic violence and substance abuse are bracing for more demand for their services, even as the recession is forcing some to cut budgets and lay off their own personnel. Although an economic downturn itself does not cause domestic violence, it can increase the factors that contribute to domestic violence and reduce victim's ability to leave. (Kalson, 2008). According to the National Network to End Domestic Violence 24-hour census, “the economic climate may give batterers additional leverage when using emotional and financial abuse to control their partners” (Feb. 2009).…

Akeelah and the Bee is one of those rare movies that comes along every once in a while and manages to get everything right despite sticking to an almost formulaic plot design. In this case, Akeelah is almost a sports movie, with the titular heroine involved in a spelling competition instead of any sort of sport with a ball. Make no mistake about it though, anyone who has seen the spelling championship on ESPN knows how brutal the competition can be. As a competition movie, Akeelah puts the mass of children’s sports movies to shame though, as the film proves it’s not the winning at the end of the film, but the journey there that makes us who we are.…
