Research Proposal
My strategic plan will cover the U.S. Air Force (USAF) and explain how as a government activity that does not exist for purposes of profit in standard terms; profits, planning, organization, mission objectives, and desire to improve are at their core. I will explain the three levels of decision-making as it applies to the USAF that include corporate-level, business-level, and functional-level.
My research sources will include Colonel Campbell journal of Governance from 2002, titled Long–Range Corporate Strategic Planning in Government Organizations: The Case of the U.S. Air Force that examines the 66 years of USAF. …show more content…

This source further examines “Matters not often addressed in Air Staff money drills and capabilities assessments-specifically, it looks at the Air Force 's top-level organizational structure, primarily targeting the organization and personnel categories of the doctrine, organization, training, materiel, leadership and educations personnel, and facilities framework” (Sundberg, 2013, p. 1). With political and budgetary pressures, the corporate level of the USAF commonly referred to as the Air Staff faces critical decisions on funding critical capabilities and programs. A part of the critical decision include top-level reorganization, cutting employees and servicemembers, and reducing the bureaucracy in areas of training, procurement, effectiveness. Primary targets for the Air Staff and the board of directors consisting of Secretary of Air Force, Chief of Staff, 12 Major Command Commanders, and six Field Operating Agencies include “Organization and personnel categories of the doctrine, organization, training, materiel, leadership and educations personnel, and facilities framework” (Sundberg, 2013, p. …show more content…
