I’d like to talk about the sustainability part of Wal-Mart
Sustainability in corporations actually is a kind of corporate environmentalism.
In order to shed light on this part, I’ll show you three points respectively.

In the first part, some outcomes of Wal-Mart’s environmentalism will be introduced.
1. In order to strengthening customer trust, improving product quality, they held a Global Sustainability Summit and made a standard for products. They claim that all Suppliers must reveal the name and location of every factory they use. If they do not live up to the standard, Wal-Mart will stop buying from them.

2. Second, reduce cost and create a more efficient supply chain. The company decided to start small packaging optimization program. like Reducing the size of boxes for just its tea sets saved $3.5 million in shipping costs, eliminated 5,100 trees cut down for packaging.

3. Improve the sustainability of the products our customers love.
Employees in wal-mart suggested that recycling of the waste plastic and cardboard of "Sandwich bale”, which transformed the garbage into a $13 million source of revenue and eliminated $17 million in hauling expenses to landfills.

Let’s move on to the development of sustainability. Although Wal-Mart claims that it is a green company which use recycled materials and promote recycling behavior. Like what we observed in Wal-Mart in Wanda square, they sell some environmental friendly shopping bags near the checkout counter.

But the reality is far from the satisfaction. Corporate environmentalism has become a triple line, which suggests that Wal-Mart should integrate economic, social and environmental issues into organizational decision-making. it is an outcome of reducing environmental impacts while increasing production efficiency as well. Whether for the short- or longer-term, Wal-Mart's sustainability is always undertaken in expectation of a financially positive result.

By doing this they are matching farmers with markets, reducing food waste while motivating farmers to supply their chain. Through another program they work directly with the farmers to encourage safe cultivation of seasonal vegetables in an effort to reduce waste and improve the quality.…
