Suicide
Argumentative Essay:
Suicide is the act of deliberately killing yourself. The statement “life is precious, there are no circumstances where the taking of your own life is an acceptable option” is saying that suicide shouldn’t be allowed and there are no circumstances in life where it is acceptable. This essay will be talking about why people commit suicide and if it is the right thing to do or not. It will look at different viewpoints and talk about the increasing percentage of suicides in the world.
Anyone who has taken the decision of committing suicide might not have to endure the pain on Earth and may believe that taking suicide is an safer and easier solution to the problems he/she are coping with. The person might not want to live and since it is their own life they can take that decision although I think that it isn’t the end to the problem, it will cause more trouble. I think that taking suicide is thought as being a coward and giving up, I think you should fight your problem. It is very rare that someone dies by suicide because of one cause; there are usually several causes for suicide e.g. bullying. Many people take suicide because depression is triggered by several negative life experiences and the person does not receive treatment for the depression. I believe that there is a solution for your problem and you shouldn’t give up easily. You should think about your family and dear ones after you’ve gone as they will be in grief. It could be hard for your family if you are the only child who is there to support them.
You should think about others before taking a decision in a hurry since I believe that decisions taken in a hurry are often wrong. It could affect your siblings/friends and they might take the wrong step by looking at you. The wounds suicide leaves in the lives of those left behind by it are often deep and long lasting. My opinion is that it is easy to take suicide and end the problem although harder to fight against it; you should be

The mental state is ever-changing, and an individual’s life should not be decided on how they are feeling at the current moment. This is especially common in teenagers and young adults. Their minds are still evolving and growing, and this process shouldn’t be cut short just because the person is feeling down. The mental state is only temporary and changes every so…

Suicide is the intentional termination of one's own life with the objective being to cease living. For the purposes of this essay, self-sacrifice, or suicide for the sake of others, will not be considered a form of suicide as in that situation the individual does not possess the desire to die, they are instead putting the lives of others above their own. The standard position on suicide holds that all suicides are immoral and irrational except for in cases of terminal illness. This position on suicide is too restrictive and dismisses the suffering others experiences in instances beyond terminal illness. There are extreme situations in which most would agree that suicide is an acceptable choice. For example, someone trapped in a fire or subjected…

The greatest human freedom is to live, and die, according to one 's own desires and beliefs. The question whether an individual has the right to choose between these two has been debated for decades among physicians, politicians and philosophers. No right to suicide can be found in any social compact. The aforementioned question does not have a clear answer so this paper will provide arguments from both sides, describe the issues that need concern and provide specific details why this policy is inconsistent. Because opinions vary across cultures, this paper will be focused solely on describing the situation as it is presently in the United States of America.…

Losing a loved one is like having a rug swept from under you. We make plans for the day, and do not think twice about how those plans can be taken away in the blink of an eye. I never thought much about it myself, until I was faced with the shocking, and undeniable truth of my mother’s death. The title of the article I selected was the Effects of a Parent’s Death on Adult Children: Relationship Salience and Reaction of Loss. The author is Debra Umberson, it was published Feb. 1994 by the American Sociological Association. The significance of this article is to evaluate the impact of a parent’s death on adult children’s physical and psychological functioning. The reason I selected this article is because it is basically explaining how adults or children deals with the loss of their parent’s death.…

In today’s world, people have found different ways of dealing with their problem. For example, one of the ways they have dealt with problems is by turning to both alcohol and drugs. Some people even look out suicide as a way out. The main reasons why people turn to a substance like drugs and alcohol is because they feel lonely, depressed, and they try to escape reality. When a person feels depressed, the only way he or she can cure that empty gap is by filling it with drugs and alcohol. Instead of turning to a loved one, they rather be alone and deal with their pain by using drugs and alcohol. There are times when a person reacts in mixed emotions such as happiness, sadness, and even aggressiveness. These are some symptoms a person has when…

Suicide is the act of taking one’s own life whether it is voluntarily or intentionally. According to The Centers for Disease Control, it has shown that each year, more than 34,000 suicides occur in the United States. For Americans, suicide is the eleventh leading cause of death. It resulted in 34,598 lives lost in 2007. The top 3 methods used in suicides included firearm (50%), suffocation (24%), and poisoning (18%). (cdc.gov). Many people try to figure out what is the underlining cause of suicide. According to Steven Gerardi, author of, A brief survey of the sociological imagination, his general conclusion of the underlining cause of suicide varies inversely with the degree of integration of the social groups of which the individual forms a part. He also states that suicide varies inversely with the degree of integration of religious society, domestic society, and political society. (Gerardi, pg.13). As we go further in the studies of suicide, we raise the question as to why do people commit suicide based on these factors and who are the people who commit…
