The Place I Would Like to Visit.
Busy city sidewalks; yellow taxis and wide streets; hot dog stands on every corner; Central Park covered in a blanket of snow; the Statue of liberty and all of its glamour; the bright lights of Times Square; world's famous designers shops on 5th Avenue and last, but not least ice skating on a central park - this is what comes to mind when I picture New York City..... I haven't traveled to a city that can even come close to comparing to Manhattan. I haven't travelled to manhattan to, but this is the only place in the world i would like to visit.

A lot of people go to New York to see this magnificent city with many famous sights which should be visited. I would love to take a trip to the Statue of Liberty, which is one of the best landmarks of NY. Also, NY is famous for its scycrapers. It looks most spectacular at night. It would be my favourite place in the world- a city that never sleeps, a city that stands alone, and a city that is truly one of a kind. I've been reading books about NYC and I'm still watching TV series about it. I could't forget this fabulous sights i've seen on TV.There is no place like this and there is certainly no other place like New York in the world, which is why i would love to visit.
I think the best season to visit the city is winter time. When the Central park is covered in a blanket of snow, Christmas atmosphere is all around the city... Before Christmas there's annual Thanksgiving Day Parade, with its giant balloons, singers, bands and movie stars...

But the only way to feel the glory of this remarkable city is to visit it. The trip to NY, especially Manhattan, would give me nothing but joy, amazement and most important the pride to visit such a magnificent city. I would love to visit it one day and raise my own children in NY. The city where the dreams come

The city of New York is magical. With its flashing lights, parties every night, it truly is the city that never sleeps. Yet there are two sides to New York, two very different sides when comparing it to class. There is Brooklyn, and there is the Upper East Side. The Upper East Side is where the beautiful models, talented actors live, and their children. Where just your last name can get you into events and parties. This is where the rich and fabulous live, and their children who are even more fabulous. Even though they live a great life, there are certain things that make being fabulous not worth it.…

After reading "My Brooklyn, Then and Now" by Wendell Jamieson, I couldn't help but to think of the one line that caught my attention " Plenty of old places are gone, but many thrive. And the new places - the restaurants and bars, of course...have made Brooklyn a destination." Growing up in Ridgewood, Queens I saw many places disappear overtime. I also saw many new places blossom and make this neighborhood quite an attraction. From Norma's bakery that is located just a few blocks away from my house to cool pubs, cafes, bars, modern apartment buildings and restaurants, I am slowly starting to find the Ridgewood that I once thought was boring and dull, quite interesting. I can see Ridgewood becoming the "next big thing". Just like Jamieson said,…

Living in New York is a breath of fresh air, and all its conveniences have been cool as a cucumber in my experience. Coming to America when I was just an adolescent did not really give me enough meaningful ability for comparison, considering my brain hadn't fully developed. But then having traveled to Florida before to visit my uncle, I realized how accustomed to New York I am, and my pleasure of living here.…

Alec Waugh, a British novelist once said, “you can fall in love at first sight with a place as with a person”. A place can have so much character to not only make a person fall in love at first sight, but to keep that person entranced by love for the place. The city one might picture is Paris the city of love or the islands of Hawaii. However, this city is not the typical city that comes to mind. It is the city with busy streets and beautiful people, Los Angeles. The beaches of Los Angeles can be breathtaking, but it is the personality of Los Angeles that keeps a person around. A story based on a life of a Los Angeles native portrays the city as a land of opportunity.…

You might not think so, at first - for the city is undeniable madness, a model in many aspects of all is wrong in the modern United States. Walking through the city streets is an experience, like icons to the modern building, the first to the power of money. Despite all the hype, the movie image sentimentalism, Manhattan - the real core of the central island and the city - has a lot of romance: whether it is the flickering lights of the skyscrapers of downtown, you speed across the Queensboro Bridge, 4:30 Life In Greenwich Village, or simply a waste of Staten Island ferry in the morning, you really would have to be made of stone not to be moved it…

    East Harlem Narrative

What made this area stand out compared the other parts of the city that I had visited before, was that painted murals could be found on many of the buildings. We walked on 103rd Street and came across one of my favorite murals the “Sprits of East Harlem” mural. Hank Prussing created this mural around the late 70s. The mural was created to show the individuals of the area taking part in their daily customs. The reason that this mural stood out to me the most was because growing up my grandmother had lived in a similar area in the Bronx. Many of my uncles would be playing cards or domino in front of their homes and some of the people would even be playing their music. The mural itself captures the community in how individuals from the neighborhood are all going through different situations each day, yet at are all coming together as a community. Prior to painting this mural Prussing had spent some time photographing individuals from the neighborhood to use as inspiration for the mural…
