The Story of Tom Brennan
THE STORY OF TOM BRENNAN.
In the novel ‘The story of Tom Brennan’ absolutely no good comes from the car accident involving Daniel. Do you agree? Whist the disastrous incident involving Daniel was an utter tragedy positives did eventually come out of it. The Brennans meet new people who aided in the recovery of the family. The family learn to accept what has happened and are now reconnecting as a family after being torn and broken apart due to the car accident.
As a result of the accident the Brennan family have been forced to move away from their hometown in Mumbilli to their Grans house in Coghill. As a result of this move the Brennan family meet new people from the town, the new school and the Rugby team. These people/friends help the Brennans recover from the incident in Mumbilli. In Toms case his new mates from school and the rugby team help him get back to his old self by getting him to enjoy the things he loved e.g. Rugby before his world came crashing down after the car accident.

The Brennan family learn to accept what has happened and what is done is done. The family learn to live a relatively normal life again after the accident. After the incident involving Daniel Mum is broken and isn’t herself anymore, when the family first move to Coghill mum is always in bed, never gets up for meals, barley eats, never showers or brushes her teeth and she goes days in the same clothes. When Tom makes the rugby team Mum doesn’t even acknowledge him or even congratulate him. Towards the end of the novel Mum is up and making breakfast for the kids and always showers and is recovering from the accident, she knows now that the incident has happened and she need to get past it and move on for the sake of her family.

The Brennan family are reconnecting as a family after months of being broken. By the end of the novel the Brennans are doing things as a family again not as individuals, Tom and Kylie are now bonding and are on speaking terms. Mum is now connecting with her children and husband again. Tom is now trying to forgive Daniel by going and visiting in the centre and Mum is trying to get the family back as one again even if one of the family members is not with them anymore.

In conclusion the Brennan family are getting positive out of the incident, they are now a family again and are getting back to normal life with the help of their new friends and the help of their family and each other.
