Ethos is basing arguments based on one's character through trust. The three main elements of ethos is trustworthiness/credibility, authority, and clear motives. An example would be turning to a dactor's help and advice because of their knowledge of health and medicine. People will turn to doctors because they know that doctors have experiences in the health and medical field. They would much rather listen to a doctor than a random people they do not trust. One may use this rhetorical appeal in a persuasive essay because the information given is true statements that come from experienced people or credibility.
