London is a city built on River Thames, and not far from coast. A town on this site has existed for about 2,000 years. The City of Vancouver, is also a costal seaport city. Compared to Vancouver, it was indicated the existence of indigenous people from 8,000 years to 10,000years, almost four to five times longer than that of London. London and Vancouver both play quite significant roles in their countries. London is regarded as the national capital while Vancouver is made the eighth largest Canadian municipality and the third most populous metropolitan area. The population of London reached 7 million. Approximately three times less than that, Vancouver only got 2.3 million populations. London had the world’s first underground railway, “The…

London’s growth in the 18th century led to rising traffic congestion which eventually resulted in the creation of the world’s first metro system [6]. In the present day, over 70% of London residents arrive into the city by public transport [7]. The integration of this mass transport system has a…
The EU purchases over 50% of the UKs export, detachment on from the union will possibly have a major impact on the UK’s economy. Being within the single market has given businesses access to over 400 million consumers, this is beneficial the business sector and promotes economic growth. The variety of goods available to consumers has increased consumer choice. The free movement of goods has allowed manufacturers to save money which has been passed onto consumers.…
Although both religious and economic concerns had influences on the settling of British North America, the statement that “economic concerns had more to do with [it] than did religious concerns” is valid. The British government was more concerned with staying in the lead with other countries throughout Europe in the economic race rather than trying to find religious havens for people who were not with the majority when it came to religion. Likewise, the people in England cared more about money than they did with anything else. With the formation of the London Company, the ineffective economic system in England and the occurrence of the Enclosure Movement, many were economically driven to settle in the New World in hopes of leading better…

A ‘common market’ is the first significant step towards full economic integration, and occurs when member countries trade freely in all economic resources – not just tangible goods. This means that all barriers to trade in goods, services, capital, and labour are removed. In addition, as well as removing tariffs, non-tariff…
Received Pronunciation (RP) is the standard accent of Standard English in Great Britain, with a relationship to regional accents similar to the relationship in other European languages between their standard varieties and their regional forms. RP is defined in the Concise Oxford Dictionary as "the standard accent of English as spoken in the south of England", although it can be heard from native speakers throughout England and Wales. Peter Trudgill estimated in 1974 that 3% of British people were RP speakers.…
London is a city that amazes me. During the summer, I had the privilege of my parents taking my family and me to London, England. I had visited London once before but was too young to remember the beautiful city it is. I am truly fascinated with the underground system in London. There are nearly 300 stations and with more than a billion passenger journeys a year. It makes it so easy for workers to commute to work and avoids getting stuck in London’s early morning heavy traffic. I think it’s a remarkable achievement for London. It also saved countless Londoners’ lives when they sought shelter in Tube stations during the Second World War air raids. I would consider this to be one of the marvels of the world.…
Almost all Scots speak Scottish English, and in 1996, the General Register Office for Scotland estimated that between 17 and 33% of the population could speak Scots. Others speak Highland English. Gaelic is mostly spoken in the Western Isles, where a large proportion of people still speak it; however, nationally its use is confined to just 1% of the population. The number of Gaelic speakers in Scotland dropped from 250,000 – 7% of the population – in 1881 to 60,000 in 2008.…

1. What are some current issues facing Saudi Arabia? What is the climate for doing business in Saudi Arabia today? Saudi Arabia has been accused over time that they have and are financing terrorists activities; thus has made them the focus on the global war on terrorism. From reading this case study I would say the climate of doing business with individuals in Saudi Arabia are that they might not be as trustworthy as others may be, seem to say things that aren’t true just to gain the things that they want how they want it; or that they are okay with being paid off to give certain companies contracts.…
South Africa, alone of all the British colonies did not follow the political course of embracing democracy and freedom. Even though the geographic area called South Africa had a large British presence, the country was required to follow legislation given in the agreement of the surrender in 1806 from the Dutch. Those terms meant that the country was allowed to diverge from English law and replace it with South African law. The country at that time was not plagued with inequality, layers of a class system, prejudice or discrimination and the building of a new society was the idea on everyone’s minds. This ideal was not to be attained.…
