In this episode, Lee is propelled nearly to his breaking point yet again, but we have come to expect that in regards to his relationship with Rosie. However, we also get to see just how much he cares for this vibrant and aggressive woman who doesn't even understand what the word "relax" means. But, of course, we can count on Kavan and Pasacle to give us some hilarious moments as they always do. I consistently appreciate their brand of comedy, and it is the leading factor that caused me to become infatuated with Lee last season.…

There were many cases when cars did not see me and almost hit my bicycle. Because motorists dislike sharing the road, bicyclists are harassed by some motorists who get desperate and start yelling, honking, and insulting riders. Some motorists believe that bike riders, when there are no bike lanes, should ride on the sidewalks and that the roads belong to vehicles. According to the Los Angeles Times newspaper, road rage is a common experience among motorists and especially when on congested streets. Just two weeks ago, in the LA Times, “a physician was accused of deliberately injuring two cyclists by slamming on his car's brakes on a narrow Brentwood road and was convicted Monday of mayhem, assault with a deadly weapon and other serious criminal charges.” It is shocking how a physician whose job it is to take care of people can have road rage against bicyclists. Scared of the same violence, some of the international students at SDSU told me they now ride their bikes on the sidewalk. To their surprise, some received a fine of $250 for doing so. Most of these students were aware that what they were doing was illegal, but said they were too afraid to ride in the street. They also did not expect an expensive fine. I have to admit, I was also shocked. Motorists usually receive lesser fines for moving violations that are far more…

In "Up the Coulee," Hamlin Garland depicts what occurs when Howard McLane is away for an extended period of time and begins to neglect his family. Howard's family members are offended by the negligence. Although his neglect causes his brother, Grant McLane, to resent him, Garland shows that part of having a family is being able to put aside negative feelings in order to resolve problems with relatives. Garland demonstrates how years apart can affect family relationships, causing neglect, resentment, and eventually, reconciliation.…

    Up in the Air

In Jason Reitman’s Up in the Air a traveling businessman, Ryan Bingham, played by George Clooney, uses traveling as his way to escape reality. Bingham avoids all types of human relationships and isolates himself from his world . After getting to know a young uand–oming (connect those words with a -) co-worker at his firm, Natalie, he realizes there is more to life than sky miles, airports, and hotels. Because of this awakening and an epiphany at his sister’s wedding, he decides to pursue a romantic relationship with a woman he thinks he loves yet only to find out she has been deceiving him. Bingham tries to move on with his life and get back in the air, but the final scene portrays him as a sad and empty individual who finally realizes the extent of his self-imposed isolation. redundant The focus of the camera along with quick cuts and varying camera levels in the second scene portray how Bingham has successfully compartmentalized his life, leading to?? now that I think about it, is it, rather, than the compartmentalizing that he learns on his job leads to this in his life? Or just that he his able to compartmentalize and dislocate himself in all aspects of his life – work and love? I think you can hone this thesis more, but for now it’s fine the compartmentalization and dislocation of difficult emotions that result from his job so much so that he no longer knows how to unpack these compartments of his life and enjoy the pieces all put together.. Good, but now add a “so what?” – why does Reitman want to show this?…

I went by bus from my hometown, Bengkulu to Jakarta and stay for few days there with my uncle and his family. In Jakarta, I just spent my time by watching movie at 21 (twenty one) and met some of my friends. Few days after I traveled to Jogjakarta by train to my grandparents's house. I spent longer days there by visiting Malioboro, Borobudur, Prambanan and Keraton Jogjakarta. I almost got lost there because I seldom to go there. I just asked the police when I got lost. Fortunately, they were very helpful. It happened when I visited Borobudur and Prambanan temple. From the bus station I went to Prambanan first and after walking around for few hours I traveled to Borobudur. Unfortunately, there wasn't bus from Prambanan to Borobudur so I was so confused. I asked the security man at Prambanan and he suggested me to go back to the bus station. So, I went to Borobudur by bus again from the station. The view during my way to Borobudur is very interesting, so greenly. After arriving at Borobudur I step up its stairs. It was too tiring because Borobudur has many stairs. I met some Indonesian and foreigners there. It was interesting because I can talk in English with them to improve my English. I'm excited because there isn't any foreigner in my hometown. We took some pictures. I bought some souvenirs there and have lunch…

It was a long day at work and I just could not wait to reach home. I had to walk a short distance to where my friends’ worked first because we decided that we would carpool for the week. Before we even approached the highway we could see the rush hour traffic from a distance, so we decided to take the Old Road to beat the traffic. This road has not been used very often by motorists as there were reports of car thefts, robberies and many other suspicious activities. But I just wanted to reach home quickly because I was exhausted and they had no problem with my idea.…
