Why it is important to follow proper instruction procedures in the military is for many reasons. As a soldier it is our responsibility to not only follow instruction/orders, but to execute the command. Not following orders can result into consequences not only for the soldier whom committed not following instructions, but also it can put others at risk too. Like your N.C.O. in charge of you, to your Team Leader, to your Section Sergeant, to your Platoon Sergeant, to your 1st Sergeant, to your Company Commander, to your Brigade Commander, and so on. Not only can your N.C.O. in charge of you, your Team Leader, your Section Sergeant, your Platoon Sergeant, your 1st Sergeant, your Company Commander, and your Brigade Commander could all get into trouble for your actions of not following direct instructions/orders. But some may lose rank in the process including the soldier whom didn’t follow the specific instructions/orders giving by a soldier higher rank than that individual soldier. Also when you are down range deployed to Iraq, Afghanistan, North Correa, and other combat places we have our troops fighting the war at, not only can a soldier lose rank. In fact not following directions/orders you could get a soldier fighting along side of you in the war killed in combat. Try to explain to a spouse, or a mother and father, better yet the soldiers kids that the reason why your parent father or mother isn’t coming home to see you is because you flailed to follow proper instructions/ orders giving to you and that is why your parent father or mother isn’t coming home to you. Not only is it important to follow instructions/orders, but you as the soldier could lose rank. Such as your Company Commander can take all your rank away only by going through a reduction board. Give you 14 days extra duty and lost of one rank. Give you 7 days of extra duty and lost of one rank. One month of no pay. Or two months of no pay. Be put on…

One of the ways that rank structure is important is that it is like a link of chains. This chain forms a link between the highest officer to the lowest of the enlisted. This chain allows for the anywhere in the chain of command for an order to be issued and it will go down the chain to the level at which it needs to be accomplished. Also it allows for the those at the bottom know who they may bring grievances to. It also allows for the smooth operation of many assorted tasks to be accomplished efficiently and quickly. But this chain become weakened when someone does not follow the chain up the through the command for grievances or does not follow the orders of those who are placed above them. By not following orders or by trying to go around those who are placed above them, they cause others to see that the rank structure is unimportant and this causes the rank structure to breakdown and eventually lead to chaos and anarchy.…

Why my chain of command have accountability it is easier for them to track down other soldiers in case they were needed for anything. Being accountable means being dependable, showing up to formation at the appointed time, being at the right place and at the right time and doing the right thing at the right time. It is also to see if everyone shows up to formation and or where they are supposed to be. Accountability is not only for keeping track of other soldiers it can also be for keeping track of money, gear, legal documents, and many other things. The United States Army has a very distinct structure to maximize the efficiency of the command and control of soldiers, this structure is called the Chain of Command. The rank structure was created in the 1700’s when the military became a structured element and when away from being a militia with no structure at all. Rank was established to officially appoint someone to give orders to soldiers; also to teach the newer enlisted soldiers respect. If there was no rank structure in the military there would be no organization or discipline in the army. The discipline and order that the United States ARMY has is what makes us the strongest army in the world. When a new recruit goes through basic training the rank structure and chain of command is constantly being drilled into their minds; as well as how to properly utilize the chain. As a new private in basic some soldiers are appointed into student leadership positions to help them understand how hard it is to run a squad or platoon sized element and to show them how much harder it is without the proper use of the chain of command. The soldiers quickly learn that one person can be in charge of a platoon but it is very difficult to handle and control every single individual soldier and their issues. The student leaders learn that the military cannot efficiently function without the chain of command and the use of delegation.…
