The Reign of Terror was a period of violence that occurred after the French Revolution incited by conflicts, it marked a mass of executions by the guillotine, which carries out beheadings. Helen Williams and the French Revolution, Raintree Steck-Vaughn Publishers (adapted) describes the Reign of Terror "few people went out, in fear, in case, without realizing they committed some type of transgression. People jumped at a knock at the door fearing arrest, and numbers of execution rose". This statement says that the French people were so terrified of death that they stopped living, by leaving their house or plainly walking. While it may be true that the Reign of Terror was a terrible time after the French Revolution, still all in all the French Revolution was successfully.
