A Beautiful Place
A Beautiful Place

Everyone has their favorite place, if it’s in their heads or in real life. This is about one of my favorite places. This place would be the place I’d always go to whenever I had the free time. Even if I didn’t, I’d take the project I was working on and finish it there. No one ever went to the place or did I tell them where I was going so I was all alone in complete solitude. I used to live on a farm, out where no one could see. When you step outside you will see never ending acers of farm crops, dry land, and small patches of woods scattered at the edge properties. However, there was a trail biking trail a couple miles away despite the lack of people. I would go to this trail every day, alone. On my walk there I would memorize my surroundings, the cracked abandoned roads until I knew every pot hole and split in the pavement. To both of my sides were deep, dry ditches with knee high grass that sways in the wind. These ditches were rather ugly, spots of the grass were dead with chemicals or hideous weeds would pop out making the ditch look even more unkempt. Only on occasion would a car bounce by me, making me snap out of my self-consumed dream, scaring me to making me cautious. That didn’t last very long, I’d slip right back into that comfortable place where if felt like I was invisible. I’d continue to stare at my feet, only paying attention to the ground under them. Then, look up for a second to see how far I walked or where my next turn was. Right next to the opening of the trail was a giant house. This house was four stories and twelve windows just on one of the faces. This house intimidated me, the flacking paint to the missing stones one the chimney. I always felt foolish walking fast to escape the presence of this house, but the way is sat there made it look like it was alive, watching anyone that passed by. I made sure that a kept away from it because I thought if I got too close it would come alive and attack me. This again

Thirsty I made my way towards the kitchen to pour myself a glass of Cranberry Pomegranate juice. Sitting around what’s left of the dining room table one of its hinges obliterated merely three table legs left as a support. A branch from the oak tree near the kitchen window kept tapping against the walls and windows as the wind blows. This branch at night when the murky moonlight blooms against the massive tree meticulously resemble an oversized man with a knife trying to break into the house. I often dreaded coming down the stairs for a cup of water or juice late at night when the lights were off. The terrified image and screeches sound on the window always send me scurrying right back to my room and ducking under the covers trembling for dear…

Snow started to shower as if on a peaceful rainy night and I look for any opening, trying to escape this creature that was following me. I could make out a large building figure ahead and ran directly to it, exhorting my energy as I advanced through the shivers in my body and aching bloodstained legs. An old tainted church-like mansion appeared as the fog cleared and I forced my way up the frigid sleet hill and onto a rusty pavement beside the building. I leaned upon the 5-metre tall wooden door trying to hear any sound coming from inside the outsized building, trying to sense any civilisation as the sky slowly turned into a rich black shade. I knocked onto the polished door, trying to depict a reaction from the owner that might've lived in this secluded place. Lights started to rapidly appear above the door and forming a luminous loop around the entire mansion, whilst the door blew open with such force that I was knocked back onto my spine. I tried to scamper away on my knees as a spine-chilling sensation started to form from what was a supernatural…

Tree branches thrust themselves at me as and monstrous bushes slowed my progress. Suddenly I caught a glance of something quickly scurrying by stooped over in the darkness. Gusts of wind shook the door violently, I heard a shriek from around the corner of the mausoleum and a distant door close with sudden fury, felt for the first time the danger that was lurking. I trod as softly but impatiently yet looked back frequently to see if I was being followed. My blood curdled as I forced the door open, the windows seemed to be in motion, it could be nothing but the violence of the wind penetrating through the divisions of the shutters. Brilliant moonlight along the floor shone like pearls, and I left footsteps marking where I had disturbed long accumulation of dust.…

My whole life my immediate family has always had a lot of land that we use for farming, recreation, and a place for our animals to live. The land that we own now is miles from any kind of civilization so it is secluded and very peaceful. The land consist of farming fields, grassy pastures, thick woods, creeks, rivers, a pond, as well as the farming equipment and the animals. In most peoples eyes this would be a great place to experiment using all of the body's natural senses.…

I took the little path behind the house that led to the forest. I was alone on that beautiful day and without thinking about anything I continued my way through the forest. The trees were beautiful and impressive, there were beeches, pines, and a very old oak. I stopped to look more closely at it. I thought this tree must have been there for a very long time. Then I heard leaves moving. First I thought it was because of the wind, but I saw a very little wild animal running through the fern. It had dark fur with tints of blue. I had never seen such an animal before and its colour surprised me. Then the little animal ran away and I remained alone in the immensity of the forest. I was far away from home now but I could not help walking. Nobody was waiting for me at home and I decided to make the most of this superb day. I had been walking for about three hours now, and I felt tired. I lay down on the grass and fell asleep.…

I succumb to temptation as to continue this journey. I open the door and I hear a creaky din; my heart begins to palpitate. Inside the house, the remains of the damaged furniture are covered with thick blanket of dust. On the walls lie dusty wallpapers and portraits watching my every move. Spiders make massive webs contributing to the cloudy look within the building. Parts of the stairs have been broken and each board creeks as I walk on them. Skeletal remains lie on the ground like carpet and rats and roaches scamper over it. Suddenly, I hear the sounds of crickets and owls hooting within a distance. The palpitation of my heart increase even more when I hear an eerie voice warning me to leave or I will be trapped…

As I stood, staring bleakly at the dilapidated house. Chills ran down my spine. I forgot my jacket, I thought to myself. The twojackets, three pairs of pants, 4 pairs of fuzzy socks, and boots could not keep me warm against the deathly cold. The walkway up to house were cracked. Weeds emerged out from these cracks. Briars were growing wildly in thick batches by the gate. The moonlight cast a scary glow on the house. Twisted vines ran up the side of house, reaching towards the roof. The house's walls were rotting because of neglect. Splotches of original paint gave me flash backs to how this house used to be, even though I've never been here before. Cobwebs covered the corners of the doors, tiny black spiders threading towards their prey. The house is fit for the Kings and Queens of the supernatural.…

    An Abandoned House

It was a hot, summer's day as I walked on the dirt road with only silence along my side. As I continued on the road I discovered it led to an old abandoned house. I couldn't help but stop for a few minutes and look at the details of the huge, strange shaped house. I noticed that it had been a long time since anybody even took a look at the house. The old house was left to die, alone, with no one to care. The paint was peeling, the windows were broken and the shingles had been torn from the roof, probably by past storms. What caught my eye was that the unkempt yard, it looked like it hadn’t been cut since the house was abandoned, the grass was almost my height and there was nothing but weeds everywhere. I imagined this house would’ve probably been huge and gorgeous in its days. It had three full stories. The fourth floor had an attic where you could sit and see the sunset on the horizon. The house also had a huge porch with large white columns making a fence to support the balcony. The columns were full of dirt; they looked less white and more brownish-black. As I slowly continued to walk past the house, I could hear the wind whistling through the broken windows. I could see the leftovers of the curtains moving gently in the breeze and the grass swishing left and right in the wind. As I was giving the house a final look I thought I saw a silhouette of somebody beside the window gazing upon me so I started to walk a little bit faster. As I walked I wondered how much longer this house could stand up to the rain and wind before it surrendered itself to nature or would people destroy it and replace it. Maybe it would just be left alone there and would continue standing quietly with its dark, window eyes begging for mercy.…
