A good learning assistance for international students -----mobile computer

In the recent decades, there are increasing international students studying abroad. Admittedly, studying abroad can bring about many benefits to international students, including broadening their horizons, experiencing foreign cultures and increasing employment prospects. However, it may be inevitable for international students to meet with various difficulties on learning owing to culture differences and language barriers. Luckily, there is a great progress in digital technology, in particular mobile computer, which provides international students with significant assistance on study. To be specific, mobile computer not only helps international students adjust for a new culture but also helps them adjust for new ways of teaching and learning. Eady and Lockyer (2013) claimed that mobile computer is a part of the learning and teaching environment, and it not only can increase students’ motivation and engagement of learning, but also can cater for diverse learning styles and promote learning outcomes. Furthermore, mobile computer is easy to carry, and international students can take them to have classes and they can also learn and review teachers’ contents outside classrooms (Rogers, & Price, 2008). Due to the usage of mobile computer, international students can develop constructivist learning, and they play a pivotal role in their studies. This essay will argue how mobile computer help international students learn well and then analyse the roles of blackboard, e—library, Evernote and app for international students’ learning.
