A Moment in My Life Were I Was Proud of Myself
A moment in my life where I was proud of myself happened around the summer I graduated from high school in 2007. When I had finally graduated I could finally take a break from school, go out of town for a few weeks, and get to kick back like I wanted to. I was enjoying my summer like any other teen, and just like another teen I realized it’s now time for me to get a job especially since I wasn’t in any rush to go to college. Not to mention that I was the youngest out of three and the only boy so yes I was kind of spoiled. But that all had to stop now that I was out of high school as much as I hated to admit it.
So I began to go job hunting and one thing I always known about when it comes to finding a job that it is not easy. There would be times were I would go on the internet and fill out some applications, and then there was other times were my step dad would take me. I would at least try to have him take me from place to place at least too to their times every two weeks. One of the places we tried was my sister worked at and it was fast food restaurant. When the time came for me to fill out the application you would think since my sister of all people work there that the job was in the bag. But boy was I wrong about that 2 weeks pass and I never hear from him.
But that didn’t stop me I was determined to get a job because like every other teen in the summer if I was going to do anything I would need some money in my pockets. So one week me and my step dad are driving still looking, and he remembers out of no were someone else who he knows in fast food. So I end up landing a job at a fast food restaurant called National Coney Island. And end the end I’ve learned it’s really true when they say sometimes it’s not what you no it’s who you

Ever since I can remember I spent almost ever y day at my Grandparents house. They live right down the road from my family and me, and that is how they got the title “Grandma and Grandpa down the road”. They lived in a small house three bedrooms, one bathroom, and a small living room with a fire place that can worm the coldest heart. And in their back yard stood a shed filled with old farm equipment and stray cats with their kittens that I would try to catch every day. They are now both 78 years old and sadly not very healthy. My grandpa was diagnosed with lung cancer in October, and it changed my grandpa’s life, my family’s life, and my life.…

A recent event in my life where I felt proud was getting enough money to help my parents pay for bills and succeed and pursue "the american dream". I started to work for HoneyBaked Ham part time since I was eligible to work. The paychecks felt great and giving them to my parents was felt better. As my sister and I get ready for college, the money got tight and I did gigs on the side. I did everything from landscaping to repairing phone screens. Felt stressful but, mind over matter right? Thats exactly what my parents thought when they moved overseas to the new world. I felt a huge sense of pleasure as I could see stress lift off their shoulders when I gave them the money This would help me in college because I know I can give myself the extra…

The proudest moment in my high school career is when I signed myself to take my first AP class. I was really nervous about going to the meeting to sign myself up to get the summer assignment because I felt that I was not ready for the work load, and I would not be able to pass the class. My excuse for not going to the meeting was that I was helping in the cafeteria and I was going to be really late, but when I told my two best friends Jenny and Virginia that I wasn't going to take it anymore. They got so frustrated and annoyed with me because they said I was stupid if I didn’t take AP calculus because that was my favorite subject and I needed a challenge in that class. They also made me remember when I would tell them that Math Analysis was…

My Most pivotal moment in my life was when I almost got shot. I know you’re probably thinking I’m crazy because how can almost getting shot be a good thing? Well I’m going to tell you why. It all started on July 31, 2015 me and all my cousins were sitting in the house, and they decided that we should go out. I honestly didn’t want to go but they forced me. That night we went to a club, had fun until the night was over. We started leaving the club and as we were walking toward the parking lot a group of guys just started fighting out of the where. It got crazy and chaotic quick. The security from the club came running outside trying to break up the fight; eventually they did. At that point we thought everything was over so we left and went to…

When I was sixteen years old I thought my first job was going to be at Mc Donald’s or some type of fast food restaurant. My mother wasn’t really the type that forced me to work at a younger age. Usually a lot of teenagers don’t work until seventeen or eighteen years old. Some times when I was a child I always wanted to be more responsible by doing things on my own, working, and driving, but at sixteen what can I be responsible at. As a young teenager I always looked at job postings. For example I would see chef jobs, office jobs and retail. Sometimes I would look at them just for the fun of it just to see what type of work that was offered in the bay area. Were I m from a lot of jobs don’t exist, and my community is so small that it didn’t create jobs for families. For example a lot of the good jobs like banks, store managers, and high end jobs were towards Oakland and San Francisco. When I was fifteen I heard about this program that helps younger teenagers find summer jobs, and it was something that sparked my interest. When I was sixteen I experienced a piece of responsibility; First I had my own job which generated my own money, second the job was very fun, finally I had a lot of responsibilities at work at a young age.…

When I was a kid, I couldn’t wait until I was old enough to get a job. Sure, it would be a good way to make friends and learn how to prepare myself for the real world, but for me, it was mostly about making my own money. Having to ask my parents for cash every time I needed some annoyed me, mostly because they’d always say no. Every time they did, I would always whine and complain about how different things would be when I had money of my own, how I would never ask them for anything, and so on. This wasn’t entirely true, but at the time it seemed like a smart thing to say. I must’ve applied to dozens of jobs, and when I finally got the email telling me that I needed to come down for an interview, I was excited. Sure, the job was only seasonal, but hey, at least I was finally going to have my own cash.…
