Jessica is 13 and just found out she’s pregnant. She has not told her parents and is not quite sure who the father is. Julie is 32 and just found out she is pregnant. She is not married, at the prime time of her career and does not want children. Do these situations make it right for these ladies to have an abortion? Some may say yes, but the truth is it’s not okay, its murder. People need to take responsibility for their actions because a fetus can feel at just three weeks, they need to look at the situation with a positive outlook or look into other options.
Weather your pregnancy was planned or not it does not give justification to have an abortion. You were the one to decided to have unsafe sex, which automatically makes pregnancy a possible solution. Therefore, whoever ends up pregnant must take responsibility for her actions. This does not leave the fathers consequence free; they must step up and take responsibility for his actions as well. It takes two to make a child and two to raise a healthy individual. This does not mean that because these two people are having a child together that they have to be together forever, but it does mean they have to both be apart and care for the child they created. There are some circumstances where one did not take part in the act, such as rape. But the truth is that most often they put themselves into those situations. By going to a party, by walking alone, by catching a ride with a stranger; these are all things girls do that puts them at risk. Everyone needs to be cautious and take responsible actions or end up with an even bigger responsibility and a weight on their shoulders. No matter what the situation it is not the child’s fault, they did nothing wrong, so why should they be the one who takes the consequences for what other people have done.
